"What are some examples of Haiku poetry
An English written haiku poem is usually focused on nature (this includes seasons). The poem expresses a single feeling or impression. It contains three lines that do not rhyme. The syllables are traditionally broken up this way: Line One: Five Syllables Line Two: Seven Syllables Line Three: Five Syllables Some examples: Rain like emotion Expressive, cleansing the air Now I need not cry The clouds sing softly Of division and limits I do not listen the colour of rain flowing freely from the sky relief to the land snapping a dry twig between thumb and foprefinger I break the silence (-- Ellen Weston, Moonset, The Newspaper, Autumn/Winter |
