I wish I had the mad skills to rewrite the pattern so you knit it in the round. There was a hell of a lot of unnecessary seaming that just added bulk and work. I have been thinking about knitting something for the raffle. I don't know what yet. There is a new zombie pattern out that is adorable. Aprils project is a round afghan requiring over 2,000 yards of yarn. linky it is the afghan on the cover of the book mine will have a cream center and midnight blue on the outside http://earthfaire.com/west-knits-boo...st-p-5501.html I have considered that if it is an easy knit then I might make one for the raffle. maybe ![]() odd to consider but the afghan though big would be easier than the bear.

Don't know how crafty this is, but I save all the ends and melt-off from candles I burn. Once the mason jar I keep it all in is full, I will melt the wax together (melt it in a tin can on the stove), and make fire starters. To do that, you need some old, cardboard egg cartons. Fill the carton with wood chips (like the kind you use in hamster cages. but not used. that's just gross.) and whatever spices or nice smelling things you can find (I like dried western cedar, bits of cloves, and/or bits of cinnamon). Carefully pour wax over each space in the carton and let cool. It doesn't have to be a lot of wax, either...Just enough to hold it together. You can use the entire carton all at once for a BIG fire or cut the carton into smaller squares and use them one at a time.
Okay. That was painful to write and probably more painful to read. Here are some BETTER instructions: clicky! Happy crafting! cara
