Though there are many, the one that stand out above all others is snorkeling at Olowalu Beach on Maui. The coral formations were huge and almost other-worldly. The fish were so plentiful and varied it was like swimming in the tropical tank at the aquarium. It was peaceful and beautiful and perfect.

Snuggled close with Justin in bed, air conditioning on, covered with my down comforter, one foot sticking out, lifetime movie on, chihuahua in her spot on the bed , Aussie in his spot on the floor, ferret in his spot snuggled in the dirty hamper, smelling Justin's cologne, having her hold me close, feeling so comfortable and complete. That's my little slice of heaven and I get it everyday! :-D

A place called The Berry Patch, off of 220 in Ellerby NC.... Wednesday I stopped on way to work for the sweetest, most divine local strawberries I've ever had... so ripe and just perfect. You'll never find the like in grocery stores. ....and bought other local veggies to share with my coworker. It was too hard to keep from.snacking on those berries for the rest of my trip. Good thing I had a black shirt on.
On my way home, blistering hot with no AC... I stopped there again. They were putting out the last of the berries for this season ... and I discovered their ice cream shop housed in this HUGE strawberry shaped building ... can't miss it!! Nice landmark and cute!! I had my favorite butter pecan in a waffle cone....when she handed it to me, I was so delighted to hear her say "it's soft, it melts quick"... I LOVE LOVE LOVE soft serve .. I found a shady spot and slowly enjoyed every spoonful. Didn't miss a drop. By that time, my face wasn't red from overheating. Now I want to move my whole farmhouse to the field next to that HUGE berry!! Heaven on earth! ! |

Cuddled in bed, safe sound and comfortable ... AC on and two puppies fussing over who gets to cuddle closer to me, then my luv bug plopping down on top of the puppy, because she wouldn't move but he wanted a hug from his momma.

My slice of heaven was having the ability to help take care of my dad for the past year. Work never stopped for me. My career is super demanding and then I would come home and assist the nurse with my father. It was the most exhausting year of my life, yet the most rewarding. I've had to send him back to a nursing home to have more immediate medical assistance when needed, but I'm so happy for the time I was blessed with. To those of you that sent cards and letters of concern I thank you. I'm glad I have the time to catch up with everything that's been going on here. Love you all.
