Checking in as someone with allergies and a lot of scent sensitivities/intolerance. I can't wear perfumes, though I can minimize the effects if I spritz just a tiny bit on the back of my neck -- if it's on the front of my neck or on my wrists, I can sometimes end up sounding, looking and feeling as if I was coming down with the flu.
I'm ok if someone with me uses a small amount of scent but larger amounts, or even smaller amounts of heavily floral scents, can create a significant problem. Fortunately, the folks I tend to date don't tend to use heavily floral scents. I can't use floral-scented soaps or lotions at all without having a significant reaction. The fragrance in a lot of men's deodorants can be overpowering to me, as is the fragrance in a lot of heavy deodorant soaps. I also can't tolerate most incense or any of the things that blast an area with fragrance. Can't shop even for a moment in stores that burn incense or that diffuse fragrance through the store.
