My 8 year old son woke up with a nightmare at 5 o'clock this morning... He crawled in bed with me and slept snuggled against my side until my first alarm went off (an hour before we actually get up) then he very quietly snuck out of bed and went to watch tv until time to get ready for school... he was watching preschool shows...
My little munchkin always makes me smile.

I didn't just smile, I was grinning (and still am) from ear to ear....
My friend Joanna sent me an email at work today, telling me that she wanted to talk with me on Skype, because she wanted to be looking at me when she showed me something important...I was completely intrigued, and was hoping for the one bit of news that I knew would be absolutely amazing for Joanna. I got my wish....She showed me a teeny tiny speck on her ultrasound that means that she has created a life...  YAY!!!This amazing warrior of a woman is pregnant!!!! I am so happy for her, that I am still tearing up despite the huge grin on my face! My dear friend Joanna is a young lesbian woman, who is successful, strong, brave, beautiful inside and out, unselfish, a person who loves without hesitation or judgement, and one who chose to take this journey on her own without a partner. She has been waiting for this beautiful news for a long time, and the day has finally arrived. I could not be more proud of her, and I cannot imagine a better mother-to-be. And the bonus...She says I will get be Aunty Hollylane I will have to try very hard not to be Aunty Elmyra, instead of Aunty Hollylane...I'm just sayin'....  |
