There's a 10 year old kitty who's been at the shelter that I volunteer at for over 100 days. He has some expensive health problems- hypothyroidism, and something with eyes- which is probably what kept him in the shelter longer than other the other cats. I just found out he got adopted, and went home yesterday.

The taxi ride to the station...
The driver asked if I was originally from Maine. Really?  First thought: Why, do I sound like a Mainer these days?  After telling him no, I got a history lesson the remainder of the ride about what Bangor looked like back in the day...60s and 70s. Old Timers and live history lessons. Stuff ya just can't get out of the books. I learned Bangor was the largest logging city back in its prime and that the river (that is rather void of action these days) had 100s of boats docked most of the year. The only way I take in history and actually retain it. Now I want to research the city's layout back then.
