Crumbs in the butter and other Pet Peeves!

Huge peeve of mine. The misuse of ellipses. Example:

I had a great day........visited with my pony..she was happy that I brought her carrots...............................I'm so lucky to have a pony.........Life sure is great with ponies............................................ ...i think everyone should have a pony!!!............

Drives me fuckin crazy!!!!

Uh oh....I would be such a pain in your rear. I use these constantly, because I type exactly how I talk. I use either a ton of ellipses or too many commas, to show the slight pauses (damn southern drawl) that would be there when having an actual verbal conversation with me. It's habit for me, which I only recently realized the true extent of....oops.

For the record, I also reviewed the rep note that you left for another member here and want to make it super clear to you that you are about to find yourself on a lengthy time-out if you continue to use the forums here to play "mean girl" or "unnamed target".

While it's fine for you to be irritated that people are not posting, spelling, or using grammar the way you want them to, it is NOT OK to use this forum in a way that might make other people feel ashamed or ugly about participating here.

This is a diverse community. People sometimes misspell things. People sometimes use sentence structure creatively. People sometimes use a bunch of ellipses......................
Hell, some of us can barely read or write but that doesn't mean we are not worthy of each other's basic respect. Bottom line? Please think about how what you post might feel to someone else before you post it. And if you are doing that shit on purpose? It's shitty.

Some fonts are hard for me to read, and it really gets my annoyed. It helps to be able to enlarge the font on a computer screen, especially if there are no paragraph breaks and it's one big chunk that my little brain can't hold all at once, so I pause, think, then lose my place when I go back.

I read back over my post and don't see any difference from other posts in this very thread. Quite frankly, I'm one of several individuals in the thread who identified grammatical errors as so called "pet peeves." I'm taken aback at the insinuation that my post is bullying or poking. As far as I know in my brief time as a member here, well-intentioned, innocuous kidding is an integral part of communication within any community.

My moderation is not up for discussion and I do not appreciate you acting as if you don't know EXACTLY who and what you were making fun of.

There is not a fucking thing that is "well intentioned" about copying a member's font and posting style, making a shitty, mocking post about it even if couched in self-riteous "helpfulness", and then repping another member as a "high five" about who it might affect.

That shit? It's mean-spirited as fuck and exactly the kind of high-school bullshit that we do. not. want. on this site.

You can have a 1-week time-out to mull it over.
