Wolfy - I hate to even take anything prescription anymore. I even try to avoid things like Tylenol. What happened! From the 70s to a corporate job climbing the ladder!!

Speaking of retro drugs, narcs, etc. Does anyone else remember Toma, or similar anti-drug folks working the high school/ junior high speaking circut?
He's still around!

Nope, a nickel bag ($5) was a shot glass full and easily got 10 joints....I was bad in HS, I used to sell the stuff and my mom never cared as long as I didn't bring any other drugs home.

Remember "narks?" You suspected everybody or suspected anyone when there was talk. They were all over my high school. Graduated in '74.

I do remember narks. Had my locker searched once. Vice Principal never found a thing and never looked again. Someone really had to be stupid to leave that stuff in a locker.

Yep, we had narks, they would bring the drug dogs in and search our lockers. Never kept anything there, kept it in my car or purse in my Ray Bans case .

I remember the 80's, but there is a lot of it I wish I didn't.

In memory of my friend, Patrick

______________________

Pat, how often I have thought of you through the years and how much I have wanted a few more hours, days— times reminiscent of the youngest and happiest times of my life with you. We owned the world then, or so we thought. I have missed you—high school, the bar, parties, the music, and those talks long into the morning until sunrise.

It's been nearly 40 years, and I'm thinking of you more than ever. Friends ask, but I tell them I was never able to find you again. At times, I just close my eyes and go back to a winter night with you, when the snow fell silently, listening to you share your deepest secrets over wine and music. Your loves and hopes and desires...and...

and I can still see you in the kitchen opening another bottle of wine that night. Oh, the agony of a time long past, and the ecstasy of remembering as though it were yesterday. The world was innocent—and different and safer then.

I never stopped loving you, and it's so hard to miss you. Thank you for some of the best times of my life and the ecstasy of being young and free.
