I agree! Nothing ventured, nothing gained...just think, if you take the direct approach, you could save yourself all the time you are going to be spending hoping, wishing, dreaming. Let her/him/hym know how you feel! What's the worst that could happen? An "I'm flattered but no thanks"?? Who knows? The object of your crush may also be crushing on you...and it might lead to something wonderful...or it might fizzle out. But for me, even if it fizzled it would be infinitely better than never taking the chance at all.

Understand this but, at the same time, a crush is just a crush. Unless getting together is practically possible, then, well, it's just a crush. No need to be taking anything forward, nor to confess undying love for someone you may only know from a few internet posts.

Just my take on things.


ps - I am looking for a wife. Ideally, she will look like Joan Colllins, live like Sue Ellen and make lasagne like Martha Stewart can. All applications welcome.

Very wise, Ciaran! Meeting in person is indeed a different experience than the 2D best-foot-forward of Internet interactions, though I have to say, in the real time of IMs, and I guess skyping though I've never done that, I've experienced a level of authenticity that really touched me.

In my family, people show affection by dryly teasing each other, and that's how I show someone I like them, and it's also how I flirt.

I don't, btw, assume that's a femme-trait at all. A butch who catches on to me and teases me (gently), about the things she sees that others miss, really zings me right in the heart.

Flirting is most productive IMO, when people have some kind of aesthetic common ground, in the way they communicate.

First I must admit I had to get a private message from somebody to tell me about your post Scout sorry I have been a tad busy lately.

Well know if it is a full blown crush and not me being nice or just flirting I of course send her a respectful private message. That way no body is embarrassed in case she has her eye on someone else. Now the flirting can lead to a crush. However I only go public with what the femme is comfortable with.

Usually if I am interested in someone she is given my yahoo and I let her know she can reach me there anytime she wants. That way the decision is hers now if she gives me hers in return I of course make the first move of friending her. Then it just goes from there. All this takes time and with my screwy schedule it can be difficult to foster that crush into something long lasting in rt because that is always my goal. Something in real time.

Yeah definitely thinking I have a crush must be...since I woke up dreaming I was talking to her, the dream was so intense so real I had to lay there for a minute to realize I was dreaming.

The funny thing is this one did not follow my above answer. Proof that each femme is unique and life is better when it is not planned.
