-This weekend I'm working, trying to get some overtime in. The extra money is nice, and chances are we won't have it any more come January.
-I'm go to hang with my sister on Saturday, and possibly meet up with one of my cousins tomorrow.

The move back to Minneapolis is the best thing I did this year. Now I just need to go out and meet people. Maybe I can find a nice woman in one of the Meet Up groups I belong to, as the online thing has been a bust so far...

I'm actually pretty ok with being single. I've been crushed with school work and it's hard for people to understand and accept that "if you really cared about me/liked me you'd find the time" is not actually true in all cases. With seven subjects, a practicum, a case study, and outreaches, there can be 9 to 11 final exams. Actually I don't have time to even do my laundry for a couple of weeks so how am going to have time to have a date or a 40 minute conversation on the phone?

Plus every one wants instant chemistry, that massive crush hit of seeing someone for the first time romantic movie set up. I'm not that girl. It takes me time to know if I'm attracted because I'm attracted to people's brains. Instant chemistry doesn't happen for me. It's happened very rarely in the past but that did not guarantee a good fit. It was just good sex for several months.

So, if people meet me and don't hit things off in a massive way within a 90 minute coffee, I don't hear from them again. So I'm not dating. I find it painful and awkward most of the time. I prefer meeting people at parties and talking, among people we both know. Rare now that I'm 46. Near Impossible now that I no longer live in London.

So I'm starting my own meet up group - mostly to make new friends now that I'm graduating, but perhaps there might be someone I form a friendship with that also gets sexual. That would be nice. It would be a start, anyway.

I love forums but people are just too far away and usually the Butch-femme groups on line are mostly old school americans, which is great for other old school Americans with similar cultural agreements, but my old fashioned is old fashioned from a socialist, atheist, scientific, communal house living.

My old fashioned is post modern lol it's the values of my parents and grandparents and they were very much post modernist, socialist atheists. Botanists, mostly.

So... I'm old fashioned. But not old school in the American Butch-femme sense of the word. So I tend to miss the mark on fb groups. I gave up on them.

But hurrah for starting my own group!

Gm all.. I am more than ok with being single because I am tired of investing in someone who is only about games or not a babygrrl at all... I am very old school in I like to court someone but also its give and take.. If you are not willing to open up and explore every option of conversation then What's the point... Dunno. There were tons and TONS of butches IDing as daddies when I came out in the 90s and it seems most of them don't anymore. So although I suit Daddy-girl relationships best, its not an absolute. If I waited someone who was progressive and daddy ID'd I'd probably die from holding my breath lol

Good Afternoon Everyone!

It's a very chilly day here in my part of Florida. My poor Babygirl pup was shivering. This has been a very hectic week for me. My best friend had gall bladder surgery, I overspent on buying Christmas presents and I was late to work this morning. So I am sitting here on my lunch break having a small latte and a pack of Oreo cookies. It is a well deserved treat!

Hi BET. No disrespect intended ... Do you ever feel attracted to someone in a practical way but are completely not compatible sexually?

I admit, I am guilty of wanting chemistry but that is just the beginning. Chemistry isn't everything and it doesn't mean that a relationship will work. I can be completely attracted to someone's sexual vibe but completely not attracted to the rest of the package. It happens more times than I would like, actually.

I guess that is why chemistry is first for me - there is time to find out the rest

I didn't say I didn't want chemistry. What I mean is, that for ME, chemistry an be instant (lust based purely on physical attributes, like how someone moves and looks, presents) or it can happen over time. Instant chemistry has made for great sex most of the time, though not all of the time - but it tells me nothing about if they are sane or not. I have a record of high end amazing sex chemistry with drunks and addicts. So, insta chemistry actually makes me wary these days.

But the kind of chemistry that doesn't appear until I know the person? That lasts. That's why I call myself a Sapiophile. That deeper, trust-won, friendship sexy chemistry that develops over time, rather than grabs me instantly...

That's what I mean. And everyone I meet from on line want insta-chemistry. Most of the time I just don't know if I'm sexually attracted till I'm not guarding myself. And that means I need time to not have a giant wall of defence up because I'm so nervous someone is going to pressure me, or grab me, or get weird, or say something racist, or call me pissed off their face, or show up at my work, or start texting me three times a day... Dating has left me seriously scarred lol.

So I genuinely don't know how I feel about someone till I have had time to relax and not worry about them being and addict or an insane person.

I'm not fussed about experience. That's not something that matters to me. What matters to me is that's it's part of someone sexual personality. Experience is something I can rack up with someone as we practice, practice, practice

I prefer confidence, willingness, enthusiasm, natural daddy sexual personality, and excitement.

Nattih, I am having a good week so far! My oldest niece and nephew are down for the week and I'm going tonight to finish Christmas shopping 😳. It's been very busy at both of my jobs and I have eleven days left before I leave my favorite job!

I just graduated, so I'm busy with doing all the admin around that, registering for my board exams in March, organizing study groups since there is no more school. Plus going to celebration dinners wth classmates, family, and friends. I'm also working from home to try and pay bills till I can pass my board exams.

I've decided to start a Queer Geeks and Nerds social group on meet ups. So will be making a FB page and meet up group for that - go to the geek pub, go for tour are the particle physics lab, go watch sci fi films together. Etc. Be nice to have queer geeks mates.

I'm recovering, though I can't eat solids yet. On the plus side, this will help me lose some weight. I will be working throughout the week and on xmas it will be just me and the pups. If I can eat then, I will make turkey for the 3 of us and some xmas cookies for me. Other than that, expecting a quiet holdiay.
