Reading of all the experiences shared on the "Embracing your butchness" thread.

They are all so touching, sweet and, at times, sad.

Some are humerous and those are the ones that made me smile today.

Butch or femme, our experiences were very different but somehow, we all wound up on this very web site.

What are the odds?

the chimes at noon every day from the church across the street. I work in small town USA and for 15 minutes they play, actually relaxes me when I hear them

and I try to be at that location by noon !!

So... somehow after coming back from the store, (which is only 1 block away) I managed to lose the only key to our car... I mean LOST it!!! Not misplaced it, or "found it" later on... it was just GONE! For 3 days we looked EVERYWHERE, walked to 2 Dr.'s appt's... and looked at calling a locksmith (which over the weekend was triple the price) and today, my dear and WONDERFUL Husband (the BARNES) called the dealership, called a friend for a ride, and was able to get a NEW ignition key and a Spare key - for only $12.50!!!! I HAVE A HUMONGOUS SMILE on my face... and not once - not even ONE TIME did my husband lose it during my mild dementia episode! In fact, it was quite the opposite! He comforted me and told me it would all work out.. AND IT DID!!! I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM!!!!!

Although saddened by her passing, I smiled today reading Phyllis Diller quotes and remembering her fondly. Many of my favorite childhood memories involve watching variety shows on TV as a family.

The Bed Puppy

Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep.
I sleep right in the centre groove,
My human can hardly move!

I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight,
And here is where I pass the night.
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"

I sneak up slowly to begin,
My nibbles on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth -
I'm a puppy, don't you see?

For the mornings here and it's time to play
Always seem to get my way.
So thank you Lord for giving me,
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs me and holds me tight,
And sacrifices her bed at night!

I got a big surprise bonus at work today.

For doing my job. Go figure.!

Since they can't pay us in cash (if I told ya I'd have to kill ya *) I got an extra weeks vacation.

Which, I reallly really neeeeed.
