What made me smile today....

Girl: Not for us.

PERFECT. - now - as you have come to expect - here is my mushy romantic thought - I feel that way - every day. It's true - (even) when I am a (bonehead) - and yes, it does happen - it happens to all of us guys - because well - (we are guys) and we just are sometimes - even when we don't mean too...BUT - if the women we love (really) love us - they forgive - (and) mine does and did - but - even with all of that...I do feel like every day is Valentine's Day with (her) ---because I feel that excitement that flutter - that (short) intake of breath each and absolutely every time - I hear her say "hi honey" ... and I turn from a Grizzly Bear - into one of those - what do you call them - care bears or something like that...can't help - she melts my heart - in oh so a good way - each and every day - and well...that's the way it should be...to my way of thinking anyway...

So, what made me smile...admittedly yesterday was a pretty crappy day - for lots of reasons - but also a good day - because how can any day be bad - when you have the love of a woman such as I have....and yes, I truly do believe I am the luckiest guy (ever). So, thank you to my wonderful lady for making me feel like every day is Valentine's Day.

Okay THIS also made me smile!! No!! It had me rollin'

The more I read the more I thought "this is me!! This sounds just like me!!

a cabin
my sleeping bag
getting away for the weekend
a close friend's support, patience, and wonderful conversation tonight just when I needed it most
can I say a cabin again? ( wish I owned one like this)
the signs of mother nature while I walked to the camp store...instead of the busy loud city noise ..
sharing a good dinner with my pup
I paid too much for the cabin ...but it's where I can find my Zen...
looking forward to spending Saturday Sunday in much peace

*a sweet, sweet post and all of the loving and supportive messages it received.

*an anniversary of note.

*new hair. hoorah!

*a cocktail and some tapas with new and much loved friends (who made my lover feel close, though he is not here).

*a 2-hour skype session with a long time friend and her wife in melbourne, much laughter, much gesticulating, much recounting, much love.

I am blessed.

Watching Riley my lab coming out of her shell and really enjoying herself and the attention she is getting from Sir. She fell in love with Him right away... hmmmm... just so she remembers who her mamma is!lol

Lots of other things make me smile on any given day - but nothing even compares (yes, of course) - to (her)...

and (bonus) - she promised never to make me eat meatloaf!

The car is packed, the cooler full, and the kid eating Cheese Puffs (at 9:00 a.m.) in the back and thank goodness for leather seats as that "puff dust" gets EVERYWHERE!

70 degrees, sunny and on the way to the marina. The winter of my discontent is over and I have a date with a boat.

Springtime in the South, gotta' love it!
