Seeing the kids in our homeschool group gush over their year books and asking all of the parents to sign, as well as having their friends writing all over the pages.
Blowing bubbles for screaming squeeling kids chasing them and popping them, no matter if they were 4 or 16 years old. My sweet little 4 year old buddy from the school group sitting on my lap quietly blowing bubbles when he got tired out. |

Finding out that the man who murdered my sister-in-law has finally been convicted...and knowing that her kids can have some closure and remember their mother in happier times....

I just stepped out on the porch to let the little people in and I heard crunch crunch crunch coming from my bird feeder. Yes I know birds are asleep this time of night. I picked up a solar light, pointed it at the tree where the feeder is and sitting on the feeder was a flying squirrel, eating away at the seed and corn in the feeder. Yeah, that'll make anybody smile.

My morning coffee
Knowing that the ParentalUnit and those in tow made it safely to Tennessee. The ParentalUnit calling to check-in with me. Phone conversations into the wee hours of the morning. Text messages. The ParentalUnit seems to be enjoying his "first" trip away from home. My one and only nephew graduates from high school today the commencement starts in less than 90 minutes.

Accidently coming across an estate sale and on the way home stopped buy an estate auction that I figured would already be over. Got some good deals and missed a few good deals as well. But it's all good, I'm pleased with my purchases.

I managed to get all tough & butch with my electric screwdriver & some other tools that I don't the names for, and took down the mini blinds that were on my patio door ... all by myself. And now, sitting in my living room looking out the lovely french door to see my patio in the trees - gorgeous. I must live in the best treehouse apt in the world. I'm pretty sure I do.

Once a decade whether I need to or not...lol!
Today I was at a cafe, zoned out with my earphones in and surfing online...
Out of nowhere, the hipster dude who works there came up to me and said, "what kind of cookie do you want? a queer girl just left but she thinks your cute and bought you a cookie...we're all out of vegan chocolate chip..." I'm sure he thought I didn't speak English b/c I had the Stuck On Stupid face...this kind of thing never happens to me! I finally started to laugh out loud... Peanut Butter. Thanks girl, ya kinda made my day :-) |

My neighbor, Sonia. I was sitting on the porch with the dogs this evening, and Sonia & Francisco's windows were wide open. There was a huge group of women, and there was a lot of loud laughter going on, a lot of it was coming from Sonia.
It caught my attention because, I know about all that Sonia is going through right now. Two weeks ago, her husband, Francisco, had a mild stroke. He is unable to go to work, and now needs open heart surgery for a second time, he will likely lose his job because of this. Their daughter is chronically ill, and Sonia has stayed home with her for 15 years, she has little to no work history, and will have to seek employment to support their family. Despite all of this (and other issues I won't go into), Sonia constantly wears a big smile, and gives a little bit of herself to everyone in her life, and even to complete strangers. She knows of my medical issues, and that I live alone, and the other day she said that she wanted me to have her phone number, just in case I ever needed her to come help me. When my dogs were having a blast barking at another neighbor's dogs, she came out to make sure they weren't frantic because something was wrong at my house. So, to hear her thoroughly enjoying herself this evening, really made me smile. |

Smiling....and a few tears..
Watching my sweet niece walk across the stage and graduate with her Bachelors Degree. I love that awesome girl! Spending the rest of the day with family, lunch at the YardHouse. Then over to Dave and Busters to play games and have drinks. I'm telling you, air hockey was never that fun before! Then over to the movies, to find the last 6 seats in 5th row. Huge and loud on the screen, Ironman 3. However, after consuming many drinks, my sister-in-law and I both fell asleep. I just don't know how I dozed thru that loud action pack movie! The parts I did see, were good! Oh, and her sister also graduated today, with her law degree. Now I'm waiting for my phone to re charge. Too many pictures were taken! It was a very good day, I will be smiling for a long time. Memories in my heart
