homoe? What did you think of the movie? I found an article online, published on The Daily Beast, which brought to forefront some interesting notions about how this woman's social activism could receive an nod from the Supreme Court ruling in favor of separating church from state. And how her role in achieving this victory on behalf of all US citizens is not commonly known, in household type ways.

I liked how the article (op-ed) pointed out the idea how women are silenced in American culture today, as in past eras, political upheaval or not. That unlike other cases (where social penalty might include being jailed or imprisoned), such as Roe vs Wade (1973 landmark case) or Brown vs Board of Education (1954 landmark case) -- both entirely different social issues, but, in my mind's eye, share similarity in that traditional cultural custom -- women typically oversee and advocate for the voice of women as it pertains to choice concerning abortion rights (women's health care) or women of color who took a social stand (think: Rosa Parks), where women used their political voice for social change. The difference for Madalyn Murray O'Hair was the price of losing her life in an act of violence (murdered).

The article raised some good questions about social penalty, stigmata, and the cost of social upheaval, even if you lose your life in a social fight to make things more equitable for women, or the general public, in cross-cultural like ways.
