Posting a picture of one woman on the red carpet or some kind of red carpet event in all her full on *standard hollywood woman regalia* AGAINST women who are not wearing make up and comparing what a woman SHOULD look like (according to whom?) at 73 isn't nice, it is mean and has a lot of sexism, mysoginistic, woman hate, that whole let's use women against each other is gross and so anti woman.


Women aren't supposed to look like XYZ at ANY age, we aren't your (general) toys, pupppets, dolls, models, and spank bank material that are to be made up all all times with make up and "come fuck me" pumps.


Matter of fact the women who are being tromped on (Diana Ross and Goldie Hawn) are Grammy winning, record breaking, block buster songstress and actress. They are women who have broken into comedy/music industry when Hollywood and the record industry were even MORE yucky towards women than they are now.


Raquel Welch's intelligence, social work is also being dismissed because folks are to busy putting her in the sexual bombshell box, like you just did now by using her to step on the backs of women in a male run industry who have not only worked their asses off, but earned the right to not be belittled like this. I am amazed you would think this was ok..... I personally think it is notand find it to be disgusting and not ok....

I probably can't say this any better than Kobi or Snowy already did but let try this angle:

The vast majority of the folks who inhabit this space are women, identify as women, or were raised as women. The vast majority of those women want to be honored and valued in this space so coming here and seeing comparisons like the above are hurtful and problematic.

Here's the deal, even out in the real world women (and men too!) want to be valued for who they are and not constantly held up to some weird and false standard of "youth and beauty".

Raquel Welch is gorgeous. No doubt about it. But did she stand "the test of time" because you'd still consider her "fuckable"? That's the thing with aging and women. We lose our sexual "currency" for all kinds of fucked up reasons with both with men and with one another.

Our sexual currency with the world (and hell, our value as a human being) is at its highest when we are young, thin, white, rich, childless, virginal, nubile, and have every inch of body hair below the neck waxed and our assholes bleached to lily white perfection.

And I think you can agree (God, I hope you can) that there is not a single woman in the world that would fit that definition without a lot of fucking time and money (and unfortunately, bowing down to that standard).

On this website, in this space, there are old women, black women, fat women, differently-abled women, poor women, women who love to fuck and have done so with a whole lot of partners, and women with hairy legs and armpits. And we are ALL fucking beautiful.

Without Raquel Welch's money.

Without Goldie Hawn's plastic surgery.

Without Diana Ross's fame.

Without asking for the approval of any man or woman out in the entire world.

Why? Because we are perfect exactly the way we are.

I know you believe in God so I know you must have read the part of the Bible where it says that we are all created in God's image. Even people like me who don't identify as "Christian" can resonate with what that passage means.

It means that we are all born perfect. Exactly the way we are supposed to be.

And that also means that as we age, we are perfect and "acceptable" and fabulous.

I don't think it is right or fair to pit women, famous or not, against one another or against a false standard of beauty. Especially not in this space.

I am going to ask you to consider that "appreciating" how a woman has aged really only reduces that woman to a body. Like the woman is a "thing" rather than a human being.
What else do you know about Raquel Welch besides that you like the way she looks? If that's all you need to know, I submit that would be the entire problem. We are deeper than our bodies. We are more than how we look.

Do this better or I fear your exit from this space will come a lot faster than you (or we) would it to.
