Queer little girl Always sabotaging herself Foolish woman Brings a gun to a knife fight A DEFENCE MECHANISM That has no switch to shut down Once upon a time There lived a happy child She was destroyed By the big bad wolf A tiny cut on her chin barely a nick just to the Left Marring the little soft Freckle that used to exist Damning evidence To match the sourness that fills her mouth Even after a thousand bottles Of Yellow Listerine With her back rubbed raw by grit and concrete Her cunt aching from the humiliation (not the pain) So she filled it up Maybe it never happened the no was only in her head And never escaped Her Damaged throat Perhaps it was a bad dream A mantra in her head To a calliope tune someday Ashes ashes we all fall down |

poetry has a don't judge clause. it is what it is. no guidelines. and i never assume the person who wrote the piece ... lived the piece. we've always heard it said to write what you know. and we should. but we don't have to for it to be moving.
