For the love of a spork! All things gadgety!
In the past year or so I have become somewhat enamored by certain lil life saving or at least time saving ( back saving, etc.) gadgets.
I figured some other folks out there probably have precious lil tools that they just can't live without and it would be cool to turn each other on to the latest in electronics, hardware, etc. My two newest and mostest favorite are A) The Hammerhead automatic hammmer made by craftsman. It is absolutely fantastic for doing crown molding and other projects where having a free hand is necessary! The next is B) the lights that either attach to a cap or wear as a headband. I use it for everything from lighting up the lines I need to follow with a jig / scroll saw to walking the dogs at night! Having two dogs on leashes doesn't allow for a flashlight, so the headlamp is great! What do you guys have? I'm always looking for new handy/ fun things to work with or play with! |

I was watching NCIS and Dinozzo freaked out when one of those flat robot vacuum cleaner things circled out from under a couch. It goes and goes and goes, hits something and turns and goes another direction. I have hardwood floor that breed dust over night , and of course there are the two fuzzy furpurrs that fly around the house. Does anyone have one? Know someone that has one? It might drive my two cats up the their cat trees all day though. I DO Want that hammer... |

Love Gadgets!
I am ready to purchase a Kindle (sp?) but am reading about the one Sony put out for much less, difference is that the Kindle seems to have wifi, and the Sony version is similar to my Ipod, just plug and download... would love to hear from people who have both and their opinions before I buy one.

A very cool gadget
Okay .. I am so excited about this thing, I just had to share.
Mare enjoys listening to online radio stations - so I contemplated buying Her satellite radio for Christmas. Well, She is not a fan of subscribing to those types of things - so I considered HD Radio (but from what I have researched, it's lame and it sucks.) Soooo.... I found the next best thing to satellite. Wireless Internet Radio. OMG this thing is soo freakin' cool if you love listening to online radio! Mare now has access to over 16,000 + internet radio stations. AND it's wireless. AND your computer doesn't have to be on for this to work. AND (even though it was a bit tricky to configure at first), it essentially worked right out of the box! And you can add your favorite radio station - I can listen to my favorite NY stations again. There are a few of these out there, but I opted for the Grace. Logitech has a really cool one, but the latest model they have out is pretty expensive.

OMG! I am SO jealous!
We rented a "cabin" (read: very plush modern house atop a mountain) back in August. The owners, also very gadgety folks, had one of these. We were in love. That and the nifty indoor/outdoor whole house speaker thingy will certainly be on the lists for the spring renovation hell. Quote:

This radio IS very cool. Yes, be jealous. *smirk* There are literally THOUSANDS of radio stations of all genres out there and this nifty little thing let's me tap into it. I was thrilled when I read that a company is working on making this technology work for automobiles - making it truly portable. *insert woohoo! here* Last year, I bought Her indoor/outdoor wireless speakers so She broadcast Her online radio from Her computer into the yard if She wanted to. I haven't played with it yet - but I am going to try and hook them up to this radio so She could have full surround sound. I love gadgets. (Especially gadgets that won't cost an arm and a leg to upkeep).

Hey Christie, was it you that asked about the Doggie Dooley? Did you try it? Did it work?
I had one years ago in Phoenix and it worked okay--not great, but okay--but now in a snowy climate I dunno whether it will work or not... I wasn't worried about it when you first posted, since Lady's so little... but SHEESH that puppy is gonna be B.I.G.... |

I did ask about the Doggie Dooley. We haven't tried it yet and if I can stop with my yarn addiction, we will have one soon! LOL
Big puppy? LOLOLOL - Our giant schnauzer, Samson, weighs in at 114lbs. Only 7lbs more than the lovely young woman who groomed him while he and the two minis were at "puppy camp" over the holidays! She wasn't happy that he wanted to sit in her lap while she trimmed his toenails! Speaking of pet toes... the PediPaws, IMO, is a joke and $20 wasted. Quote:
