Agreed, for whatever your sport of choice is...cycling, skiing, snowboarding, climbing, skating, kayaking... Make that investment for the right gear.

Talk about your exercise experience today ----

Ok, my alarm went off and I got out of bed. Oh, I made coffee. ;-)

I checked the helmet I bought and yes, it has the sticker that shows it meets safety standards. Good to know about that.

Hooo Boy! I am two weeks in my new apartment and I still feel like I just moved! I was seven years in the neighborhood I work in, loved walking to work, but on last Dec. 1st unbearable people moved in upstairs and I had to finally move. It was like a Frat House and I was regularly woken up between 12 and 2am. I was losing my mind! Back on Feb. 3rd, I gave up. I stopped cycling carbs, tracking my weight, and basically just stopped everything.

I'm looking forward to getting back into routines, but I can't find the AC adapter for my exercise bike! ugh. I moved to Marble Hill, where there is absolutely no parking after 6pm, and I am walking to everything. Sometimes 12,000 steps on the Fitbit!

It is great to sleep at night!

It is getting to be that time of year, charity run season! I've got the Bolder Boulder 10k coming up on Memorial Day.

Cool Swimming is soooo relaxing

Yesterday I swam for 6 hours. First laps then played in the water with my little guy, then back to laps. It was exhausting and yet so wonderful. Also spent about 20 minutes on the treadmill yesterday as well. As for today only 45 minutes in the pool.

I need access to a pool regularly. This weekend I can thank Hampton Inn, but on a regular basis I have no pool around. I'm considering joining the aquatic center nearby. My gym doesn't have one and I have truly missed the water.

1.5 hours on the Stair Master (45/50 intervals); then 1 hour of weight lifting, core, and stretching

I was so in "the zone" today- I love the days when it feels like a meditation.

Oh, and while on the stair master I watched a Judge Judy about a guy who was suing because at the gym another guy accidentally lost his balance and dropped a 200 pound weight on the other guy! Judy awarded only his out of pocket medical damages, even though the guy went through hell and has permanent damage! i wanted him to get "pain and suffering." It's a reminder that we cannot expect others to be cautious at the gym, kind of like still needing to look before crossing the street, even if it says "Walk." There's one woman who uses weights around me in a somewhat reckless fashion. The first time she did I chalked it up to me being sensitive. Then I realized how stupid that was of me, and that I needed to steer clear of her!

started out with yoga.....and realized some things I love about it....
the simplicity....
it only requires your body....nothing more
you only need as much space as the mat takes up
you dont even need shoes....

love it....

Got my home gym set up finally!
Yes, I found the AC cord for the bike.
Started slow today, it's been so long...
15 minutes on the bike 12.5 mph
1 mile walk around the neighborhood
They do not call it Marble Hill for nothing!

That's so cool. I'd love to have a recumbent bike at home but we do not have room. BB's recumbent bike doesn't suit me (I have a type of bike that I specifically like), and there is barely room for one bike let alone two! Looking forward to hearing more as you get back into your groove. Congrats on making all these changes and getting to this point!

I did see something about this. I liked the idea of variety since routine equates with rut to me...plus....its good to keep your body guessing.....is what trainers have told me...
