I WAIT....

The day has wound down,
Night has slowly crept in.
My mind it races,
too fast to settle.
I am lost,
on what the point of another meaningless day was.
Nothing happened,
and nothing was gained.
Alone I still sit,
reaching and calling out for the one.
The one who can touch my heart,
touch it like noone else can.
The one who can rescue me,
from everything bad that exists around me.
The one who can bring a bigger smile to my face,
and wipe away any tears that fall.
I wait for the one,
with whom I know,
everything will be alright.
I wait for the one,
that will give me a safe harbor,
for when I need mending.
The one who's arms,
I can feel safe in.
Quietlly,
alone,
I wait.
I wait for the one,
the one that I can love,
unconditionally...
even in,
the dark of night.
