Project L.O.V.E.
Hey Y'all!!!!!
I need some outside guidance and assistance if anyone can help, please! (apparently my pixie dust is not working on this over population of ignorance) I am in the grand state of Iowa trying to start a dual GSA/all encompassing organization on campus. It is called Project L.O.V.E. which stands for Leading Open-Minded Validation for Expression. I have developed this group to offer a safe haven, advocacy, and education to those whom feel they are effected by suppression and inequality. However, I am having quite a time getting this thing up and running due to the circles my university SGA and their adviser is putting me through. This including but not limited to: lack of information, untimely notification, and un-professionalism. There are quite a few mandatory requirements for acquiring a budget and getting university recognition which they are complicating by pushing our voting approval date farther and farther back. To receive a budget you must do xyz but if you don't have a budget you can't do xyz.....and so on! I have contacted friends of mine that were/are in SGA organizations in the surrounding universities, and they have led me in a few positive directions including that of an outreach coordinator for Iowa Pride Network. I just want to make sure I am doing everything I possibly can on my end to get this up and running. If anyone has any ideas for actions, activities, contacts, or sponsorship organizations I would be eternally grateful for your insight! Thank you soooo much! (yes even for just hearing me!) pixie
