Good morning, exercisers.

I went in this morning to warm up and have a training session but when I was on the elliptical, one of the owners of the gym came up to me and said that he'd be training me today.

Well, isn't that special?



So, to give you some feedback, this guy is a champion natural body builder.

And I am not.



But it worked out okay. He got me going on a lot of new stuff and I have some ideas going forward.

Here's my stats:

PrecorEFX576i elliptical, total body program
105.5 cal, .93 mi, 13:00 min

45 minute training session

Precor954i treadmill, random program
53.7 cal, .44 mi, 15:00 min

stretching

Oh and they fired the new trainer so it looks like it will be me and him until a new trainer is hired.

Hopefully I'll get home early enough to take the dogs for our usual 2 mile walk down the road and back. I need to start having better habits.

I forgot to post my workout from the 15th, so that's this:

Warm up: PrecorEFX576i elliptical, total body program
Stats: 72.1 cal, .67 mi, 10:00 min

Approximately 40 minutes of weight training with the co-owner of the gym. I had some soreness this time, mainly in the tops of my shoulders and my biceps. He really killed my upper body.

Cool down: Precor954i treadmill, random program
Stats: 56 cal, .48 mi, 15:00 min

Stretching to finish and lengthen

I planned to get up and workout this morning but I changed my plans.

I did an hour long Pilates DVD...

My first time ever doing Pilates...I feel parts of my body that I didn't know existed...I even fell into a post Pilates semi coma on my mat.

I can already tell it's gonna be awesome for my core and flexibility. Both of which I need

I had an early morning training session today and it started off a bit oddly. I didn't leave the house early enough to get a good warm up done on the machines so I improvised. I did jumping jacks and knee lifts and ran in place while at home.

I was waiting for the washer to kick off so I could move the wet wash into the dryer and put another load into the washer to maximize my time this morning.

So, I get there and get settled in and he has set up another circuit for me and it's killer on the legs. Graduating jumps and step ups and weighted walking lunges, backwards and forwards, the ropes and hopping stops. Then he has me push the boxing 'guy' they have, backwards, up and down the length of the room several times and then he finishes with having me push a contraption forward on the ground outside, avoiding the bees nest nearby. It's the thing that football players and The Biggest Loser contesants push around. The trainer decided, on the last pushing run, to jump on the contraption so that was a bit of a struggle at the end. He's not a big guy but he's all muscle so it was definitely a workout.

Then I followed that up with a cool down on the treadmill, under the fan because I was ridiculously hot, and then I stretched really good on the mat last.

Stats: 58.0 cal, .45 mi, 15:00 min

All in all, it was a good workout and my muscles were wrung plum out when I left.

I remember talking with my doctor about exercise and losing weight and I said I had lost half a stone in four days once and he said fantastic how did you do that? I replied with I had a sex life! Once he stopped laughing I asked him if I could get one on prescription lol

I had a training session this morning. I like them when they are with the owner of the gym because he works me hard and I'm sore the next day or two but it's not bad, doesn't immobilize me in any way and I don't feel like I got steamed rolled during the night after each workout. My job's too physical to be going through that nonsense.

I warmed up on my favorite elliptical.
Stats: 59.6 cal, .55 mi, 8:00 min

30 min circuit training on the machines. He also had me beat one of those giant tires you see meatheads tossing around. It was almost fun but I learned I probably wouldn't be good at chopping wood (because the motion's the same and the weaker side of my body really showed).

Cool down was on my favorite treadmill.
Stats: 59.1 cal, .50 mi, 15:00 min

Then I did some ab work on the mat and stretched really good.

I can't work out as often during the school year as I do over the summer, when I need more than one bathing suit just to prevent mold.

I almost always make it to one double class, Deep Water Running and Cardio Abs, and I get really hungry and REALLY tired after about 1.25 hours.

Right now, my leg muscles and my tush are sore with a capital burn.

I did 30 minutes on the stairmaster, levels 2-4. I was next to a woman wtih B.O. I thought about it the whole time because how could I not. People's scents flourish when they sweat. At the same time I also watched a netflix short doc on people who commit murder while sleeping.

I had a training session this morning. I was a bit hesitant as I didn't get enough sleep and some arthritis stuff was acting up (namely my foot that had a full box of 12x12 ceramic floor tiles dropped on it while wearing flip flops), but it worked out okay. He got me to muscle failure a few times. Tomorrow I may be a bit tender but I have another session with him and he's already warned me that it will be a HIIT session. Yikes! Those are rough.

Warm up: elliptical, total body program
Stats: 83.6 cal, .76 mi, 11:00 min

35ish minutes of strength training

Cool down: treadmill, random program
Stats: 60.2 cal, .46 mi, 15:99 min

As usual, I ended with some stretching.

I took an hour walk in the park this evening with a friend. It was a nice walk but she wanted to sit on a bench for awhile and suggested we go to a bar (etc. etc.). I really just like to keep it moving but I do my best to compromise. Still, I'd love to find someone who just wants to go on a long walk.

I had another training session and I think he may be trying to get me to have a heart attack. Mountain climbers, sprints, Bosu balancing and weight training, jumps and coordination training plus a whole lot more. Oh my.

Good morning, exercisers! I hit the gym yesterday morning.

Warm up: Precor EFX576i elliptical, total body program
Stats: 127.2 cal, 1.11 mi, 1921 strides, 15:99 min

20 minutes HIIT session: mountain climbers, step ups and plyo jumps, hands weights on the Bosu ball and the ropes. Repeat.

Cool down: stretch for about 8 minutes

I felt like it wasn't very much but near the end of the day, my mid-back got pretty sore and is still sore so I know that I did do something productive. Go me.
