That is amazing Orema, thank you for sharing about voting in your home state. I’m glad your state is headed up by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. She is definitely amazing!!
———————————————. I’m leaving a link to an article on post-election vote counting, from MSNBC: https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-...024-rcna178400 It takes a few weeks to get everybody’s votes counted. I read where Mark Kelley commented on MSNBC that Arizona is deploying sharp shooters and drones to combat extremism that might happen down in AZ. I also read, somewhere this morning, that a Bloomberg reporter thought Trumps headstone in the graveyard will say “I won.” Lol, ummmm, nope. I personally think his headstone might say something like this: “I lied a bazzillion times, stole money from decent American’s (for years annd years annd years), and still I tricked Melania into staying with me when she knew I was a rat…”. Or, something like that, I suppose. Here is to everyone who supports democracy and voted for Kamala! Cheers Last edited by Kätzchen; 11-03-2024 at 09:43 AM. |

Now that I've voted, I feel like I don't have to pay attention to this crap any more. I get the news headlines, but I mute the commercials. I've done my duty and now all I have to do is pray, and wake up Wednesday morning to find out the results. Then settle in and stay comfortable, or run away to Canada. (just kidding . . . probably.) My state is getting lots of attention and advertising dollars too, and I'm grateful for that, but I don't have to watch it.

Well I guess that's democracy in action. We don't get what we want individually. The majority rules. And for the first time in awhile the Republican candidate also won the popular vote. So the majority has spoken. Loudly. It's stupefying. But beyond that it looks like the Republicans might take control of the House and the Senate. The Senate for sure. That is terrifying. I hope the majority of the American who voted for this guy understand just what they have done.
I'm trying to understand why. It was all about the economy for most people I guess. They sincerely believe Trump will make life better financially for them. I hope that is true because I don't think people can handle it getting much worse. The problem is Trump might make it seem better initially but in the long term it will end up bad for the working and middle class. I guess people also think Trump will handle the immigration issue. And also deal with Iran. I hope that turns out to be true because there are certainly problems with immigration that needs addressing. And there are problems with Iran and it's terrorist proxies that need to be dealt with. Terrorist ideals are becoming mainstream and permeating Western democracies in general and that is problematic for sure. The West is beginning to tilt it's head in order to allow terrorism to become acceptable. One interesting example is how Dr. Hassan Diab, a Lebanese terrorist with Canadian citizenship, who was convicted in a French court of being the perpetrator of a terrorist bombing in Paris that killed 4 people and wounded 43 and was sentenced to life in prison is allowed to teach at the University level. Canada refused to extradite him to France to serve his sentence and instead he accepted a teaching position at a University in Canada and will lecture on social justice in action. Talk about recruiting techniques. Clearly there are serious issues regarding the infiltration of western democracies in all levels of society including university facility, government officials and public office by individuals with terrorist agendas and belief systems. Is Trump the guy to deal with that in the US? I don't know. He does at least recognize the danger of turning a blind eye to this. But he is so unstable and seemingly insane that I fear for the country in general. So much so that terrorist propaganda and infiltration will be the least of our problems. One might hope that the Republican party in general would set up some guardrails and help control Trump to some degree. However, the Republican party is unrecognizable at this point. I mean they were always problematic but now they are just scary caricatures. Gilead here we come. But I have to trust in the democratic process. I don't understand how many people could vote for Trump. But the people have spoken. I don't like what they have said but I have to accept it. At least we won't see a repeat of Jan 6. It's really a dark day in American politics.

The 2024 US Presidential Election Watch Thread.
We up here in Canada are watching too as if Mr. T gets in he will make a lot of tariff changes to us. However, we have our own Mr. T. here and he lets in anyone from any country reguardless of their background. That is why we are trying to elect him out of being our prime minister as well. He has lied to all of us, stolen money, given jobs to his family and don't care if people seeing asylum are being honest or not as long as he brings in more money and votes. If so many people are coming here for a better life they need to know we have encampments of homeless here as well from their country of origin. There is no housing, no jobs and no hope for much and yet he lets them in. We need to vote him out so we are in a sinking boat too.

It's just a matter of time before these damned Trump voters are going to find out that they've been "had", on ohhhh.....so many points. I'm just pointing out one of tRump's stupid campaign "promises" that attracted so many racist, xenophobic voters to his camp.
I'm willing to bet that they've never given the facts in the following video ANY consideration, because by and large, most don't have the mental faculties or intellectual curiosity to research any of these policies, their impact on the economy or simple practicality. and still, they voted for the orange turd. I've stopped listening to anything Vonshitzinpants says. He's just stupid. The really dangerous ones I'm paying attention to are the puppetmasters of the "useful idiot" that is Donald J. Trump. It is THEIR agenda that we need to fear. ~Theo~

Of interest is his "cabinet picks"......one being Matt Gaetz, whom upon being asked, resigned his seat, effective immediately, that has "ended all investigations & charges of his court cases here in Fla. and therefore he, too, is getting off scot free.
Now that repugnicans will have majority control, will make it much harder for the opposition to not push his picks through.

I just read on-line that DGT is going to try and insert Lara Trump into Marco Rubio's Senate seat when he leaves for his cabinet position. Does it ever end?!

How ironic that MGT may be leading a new congressional subcommittee dedicated to cutting down on government waste. Just to make this more laughable is the fact that this committee is being planned by Rep. Comer. I guess if you want to root out government waste you should start by employing the experts.
