I got my ballot in the mail yesterday. The day before yesterday I got two voting booklets. So I’m all set.
Will submit my vote to our county Democratic office in person. I still don’t trust the post office (DeJoy). |

Harris holds huge lead among those who have voted!
A new USA Today/Suffolk University Poll shows the vice president leading the former president by 63% to 34%, close to 2-1, among those who have already voted.
That preference turns around among those who plan to wait until Election Day to vote, with Trump ahead 52% to 35%. https://politicalwire.com/2024/10/21...ho-have-voted/ If nothing else, it is a good measure of voters enthusiasm. People who voted early are eager to vote and certain of their choices. Those who wait are less motivated, less certain.

Here is an interesting read on how mental health issues of past leaders in US positions of power, in the past, lead to the vacuum effect and rise of dictators like Mussolini, Franco, Hitler and the eventual outbreak of WWII.
LINK: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7573095/ Here is another link to a good read over on MSNBC, an op-ed by a physician. LINK: https://www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnbc-...ine-rcna176373 |

I saw a report on MSNBC by Rachel Maddow today, wherein she speaks about American’s thinking that Trump’s policies were good for Americans.
To me, it’s more like a misnomer: a person doesn’t have to be all that much smarter than the average person in America to understand that failed business practices resulting in 45 felonies is not good policy. Nor was it “good policy” to let mega-millionaires off the hook in taxation practices. Nor was it “good policy” to inject Clorox to get rid of Covid-19. Nor was it “good policy” to separate children from parents migrating to the US over fatalistic policy practices of dictators in other countries who wanted an apocalypse free life in the US. Nor is it “good policy” to undo years long work on overhauling the healthcare industry or undo years long works to make sure the disabled and elderly (I am in both categories now) are able to sustain themselves on Social Security checks or Medicare. It does not take a rocket scientist to see or understand how fatal the choice is if people can’t see how fatal another Trump administration will be not only for American’s but for the entire global community. Here is the invaluable link to Rachel Maddow’s news report: https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-...ion-rcna176553 —————————————————. I voted yesterday and I just dropped off my ballot to the county election division offices. I also signed up to track my ballot. I voted for an apocalypse free life by casting my vote for every democrat on the ballot and voting no on every measure meant to hurt people financially. I also voted NO on instituting ranked choice voting: Which rank choice voting is a mathematical certainty for calamity. I can hardly wait to see Kamala win. Kamala is the only choice for Democracy surviving the continual assault of hate we see on all fronts in American society. Kamala Harris: Madam President of the United States of America. 💙💙💙 |

Usually, I'm heading for the hills by this time in the election game but Michigan is a hot ticket and somebody is here every other day. VP Harris and fomer First Lady Michelle Obama will be up the road in Kalamazoo on Saturday for a "Get Out The Vote" rally. I won''t go to see them, but I'm all eyes and ears for news and updates.
It was nice to hear Eminem open up with a Detroit saying (What Up Doe.) when he introduced former President Obama the other night. Eminem is a good counter to the Kid Rock voters in The Mitten. Glad he came out for Democrats. And I'm glad President Obama gets to release some his angst regarding President Trump. Love this Detroit mural for Harris and Walz. Very cool.

Thank you Ace for your list of refusals. Thank you so much.
Did y’all catch Kamala’s Houston campaign stop? Beyoncé introduced Kamala and wow, could Texas be turning Blue? Ann Richard’s was once Governor of Texas. How about Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks? He is so thorough in his business rationale. What a refreshing thing to have Mark in your corner. —————————————————. I have been experiencing anxiety 😬 Here we are just days away from fucking chaos. The Election. Then Republican Mike Johnson and not passing critical infrastructure legislation and keep our country’s bills paid, but no — I’m sure he has lost his mind. How can these people live with this on their conscience? So very scary. I’m very worried, for sure. |

Thoughts about (…)
I can’t help but feel abandoned by time honored news outlets like NYT’s and WP and I did not even suspect David Muir’s Republican mindset until other news casters outted his membership in the GOP party, and I’m seriously offended by the paywall money grab on CNN and the inkling of Trumpism that I see leaking amid their news coverage.
Will media start reporting in non-partisan fashion and can they limit the oxygen given to the Trump-Maga-cult followers as if they are of sound mind when it’s obvious to others in America and abroad that they are not of sound mind and rational decision making??? I can hardly believe that the majority of voters in AZ or NEV will hand our country over to a person guilty of fraudulent business practices, sexual assault charges and the chief liar of all time. WTF (does not even come close to the treachery espoused by Church of Trump and his sickening family members and social deviants). |

Kamala’s closing argument @ The Ellipse (October 29th, 2024)
I’m leaving this video tonight so anybody can watch it when you’ve got about a half hour of time. ——————————————— Today while out on errands and attending my doctor appointment, I was waiting at a traffic light near my doctor’s office when a white Tesla 2 door car sat next to me. As we both went forward I saw a huge “HARRIS 2024” window sign across the back window. 2 ladies older than me driving it. I honked and waved and zipped my window down to shout for joy!!!🤩 |

Companies ready to hike prices.
Across the United States, companies that rely on foreign suppliers are preparing to raise prices in response to the massive import tariffs that former president Donald Trump promises if he wins the election Tuesday.
Producers of a range of items, including clothing, footwear, baby products, auto parts and hardware, say they will pass along the cost of the tariffs to their American customers. The planned price increases next year would come as consumers are beginning to enjoy relief from the highest inflation in four decades and directly contradict Trump’s repeated assurances that foreigners will pay the tariff tab. “We’re set to raise prices,” Timothy Boyle, chief executive of Columbia Sportswear, said in an interview. “We’re buying stuff today for delivery next fall. So we’re just going to deal with it and we’ll just raise the prices. … It’s going to be very, very difficult to keep products affordable for Americans.” Come on Butch/femme Planet! Let's hear a big hell yeah for Kamala/Walz! I understand talking about what you had for dinner and what brings you joy is important, but come the fuck on! Engage in this topic! THIS is so damn important for you, for your sisters, your children, your loved ones!

—————————————. In our local free newspaper, Willamette Weekly, they profiled Boyle — CEO of Columbia Sportwear. Gert, the original owner would be pissed off with Boyle for his type of leadership of her company (she passed away a few years ago). Boyle drags in millions of dollars annually, his salary is over a million annually, and most like he’s already penned his golden parachute (fleecing the company and future buyers, is what I’m guessing). He has a fortress in the West Hills of Portland. He pays his water bills, but the water company in town has a program for low income people who are behind on their water bills. The water companies new AI picked Boyle to pay off his huge water bill, at a 40% discount, when he definitely does not need that type of help. In fact, earlier this year a local family had its checking accounts frozen and left them penniless due to a water bill their now-deceased relative never paid. The entire family is on disability income and faced horrific financial penalties from the water company. Yet Boyle took advantage of this program paying his water bill. Even if it was in error, they’ve had plenty of time to retract and give that money back but they haven’t. Link: https://www.wweek.com/news/2024/10/3...hy-portlander/ ———————————————. Democracy Now with Amy Goodman
LINK: https://www.democracynow.org/
———————————————. Today I was browsing news coverage over on Democracy Now and feel that their news coverage is better than most news outlets, with the exception of MSNBC as I feel this news channel covers topics of interest the same way. Honest and forthright and compelling. I feel like our country is on the verge of making a massive mistake in not challenging and holding elected officials accountable for their roles in January 6th and worse, letting the Supreme Court upend years long battles to secure human rights for women, children, immigrants and those of us in the LGBTQ community. People come yo America to live in safety from dictators world wide. I can hardly believe that the Asian Catholic community supports Trump (it’s true, I work among these types of people in our very red county). If their wishes come true, their “lord and savior” will be using our military to round them up and hold them in concentration camps for “deportation.” They absolutely do not realize the mistake in judgement will cost them their lives and perceived freedom. My heart hurts because of their willful obedient to a human monster. I’m 65, going on 66 next spring, and never in my entire life did I think that “Christian church goers” would ever bow down to this human monster and his supporters. The massive indifference (credit to Ellie Wiesel) Americans afford to this life altering challenge is hard to mistake. Why or why do people believe the cruelty and meanness of Trump over the safety and democracy that comes with electing Kamala Harris? It’s scary, the attitude of indifference that permeates our country. Four days until a litany of evil is committed by Trump and his sickening sycophants (Mike Johnson, et al). Be careful what you wish for. (Insert WWII air raid sirens nonstop) |

I am so grateful that they’re only only two more days until Election Day! I am literally getting an ulcer. I can’t watch him talk without feeling my blood boil. I’m not just over him but over half the nation that is supporting him! I have forgotten that there was this undercurrent of ugliness in our culture yet. I was in denial! And now I’m seeing documented proof of the hatred half of our population has for our other half.
I swear to God somewhere Stephen King is writing this novel…

President Clinton was blocks away from me stumpin' for Harris/Walz a week ago, Former First Lady M.O. was less than 100 miles from me doing the same the week before that. VP Harris and Gov Walz seem to be here every other day. And we're making a lot of money from ad dollars. I watch and listen to the ads. Yep, even his. I know it's crazy and I cuss out the TV, too, but I'm here for the attention my state is getting. Even the bad attention because it energizes us. It puts a spotlight on us, but we can take the heat. Along with that, Gov Whitmer has been flooding our air waves and it's always good to see and hear her tell us why we need to vote and who we need to vote for. I also love that VP Harris is talking to anyone and everyone who will chat with her. From Steve Harvey to Charlamagne tha God to Shay Shay. (One of my few problems with Pres. Obama was that he wouldn't talk to some people when he was running. He fell out with Tavis Smaley and Cornel West because he wouldn't "go on the record" and speak with them. He's still paying for that. I don't hold it against him, but I'm glad VP Harris isn't making the same error.) I'm usually the first to moan and groan about this madness, but remarkably, I'm here for this.
