Baked buttered veggies - sounds so delicious

easygoingfemme Pollo Guisado!
Didn't know what that was till I looked it up, Sound excellent!

Stone-Butch Cooking up two lobster tails and a load of mussles steamed in white wine. Seafood sauce on the side. Coffee.

We had seafood boil at my house on labor day, Tons of crab legs and shrimp, a few clams, kielbasa, corn on the cob, baby red skins, shrimp sauce and spicy butter to go with - so good. Water melon for dessert after the kids went swimming,

Lobster would have been a wonderful addition, but it was not in the budget for a crowd. Daughter cooked. I did the prep, My g-kids can eat some seafood!!

Oh my goodness, y'all been doing some good cookin and some good eatin. Wish we lived close so we could get together and cook together. I'm rarely motivated to cook just for myself. Thanks so much for sharing y'all!
Smooches,
Keri

Last night was rainy and cold. I made a turkey meatloaf, roasted butternut squash spiced with garam masala, and pan seared brussels sprouts.

Orema 09-08-2024 09:16 AM

A Braunschweiger (liverwurst) sandwich with thin-sliced onion, mustard, mayo on seeded whole grain bread.

Maybe a non-alcoholic Heineken's on the side.

Too much ice cream is a thing.

I locked myself out of the site months ago, but you may assume that I’ve made dozens of delicious meals. We’re halfway through our farm share and I’ve dehydrated and frozen A LOT, including celery from our little home garden.

We’re at the beach and we had an excessive amount of ice cream. Pete just asked for Tum’s, poor thing, so we’re having sandwiches if we’re ever hungry again.

Dinner

Homemade hamburger with the works plus cheese. Ice tea.

Probably a wonderful turkey loaf but I am vegan when it comes to turkey, lamb or goat.

Question: did you boil the Brussels sprouts before you seared them? I find them a little bitter unless they are boiled for a few minutes before you do anything alse with them.

No! I never boil them. But also, I'm a fan of bitter flavors so... there's that. I would try it. At least maybe blanche them? I'll keep you posted.

Tonight was a late summer grilled salmon, zucchini, and mushrooms.

Stone-Butch 09-09-2024 06:54 PM

Dinner

Baked chicken breast stuffed with cheese and broccoli. Ice tea.

I find that brussel sprouds are delicious with a tiny shake of white vinegar. Cuts the harsh taste.

GeorgiaMa'am 09-09-2024 07:08 PM

lasagna . . .

iamkeri1 09-09-2024 09:39 PM

Leftovers, little bits of this and that.
Tiny piece of rib-eye steak
Steamed broccoli
Part of a corn on the cobb
Sliced roma tomato
. . . and my latest guilty pleasure, a fudgesicle.

Smooches,
Keri
