Salt, sugar and fat aka pickles, brisket, a cutie, sweet tea and donuts.

Well I tried calamari for the first time tonight. Not bad. Chewy but not tasty. Is it weird that I thought they were kind of cute floating in my bowl? lol!

My college roomie is in town! He is cooking right now and although I dont know what is it smells sooooo good I think I my guts are going to gnaw my backbone! He is greek so he is a great cook. If we were both straight Id probably marry him! Pray I can still fit through the door in the morning.

We are trying a new recipe for Beef w Barley soup...praying it turns out, because I don't have a back up plan! Lol

Since it's a lil' chilly outside & I'm fighting this sinus thing...
I am making a big pot of taco soup.
Stopping at the local bakery for fresh, warm tortillas to dip in it :) |
Last night a friend came over for dinner and we had BBQ chicken, red potatoes with rosemary and sea salt, and a salad with yellow peppers, pears, carrots, cucumbers, and white cheddar cheese, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For dessert, we had black forest cake.
And tonight I get leftovers. :) |
My birthday meal for tonight is - deep fried cheese ravioli with marinara to dip, a grape leaf, mixed lettuce and cabbage sald with beef, veggies, apricot and a light honey garlic vinigrette, chicken and chorizo penne with mushrooms, apricot, fig, herbs and a spiced tomato sauce
DESSERT : a homemade tiramisu cake |
Breakfast!
Eggs, bacon, and cinnamon toast.
Not at all what I went in the kitchen to cook, but I was hungry and it was faster and easier to make. |
Chuck tender steak in an orange juice and crushed red pepper glaze, potato salad, baked beans, kettle chips and soda.

my kitchen turned into the "China wok". Stir fry chicken, red pepper, mushrooms, onion, cabbage with egg noodles. Cheated with frozen spring rolls. No fortune cookie though :(

I'm making eggplant parm (I'm cheating, using frozen eggplant cutlets and jarred sauce! Shhh!) and pecan pie (home made...no cheating!)

Ms is making Her delicious baked chicken, mashed creamer potatoes, and broccoli. ETA in my mouth 6:30ish. :eating:

Today I have been gone most of the day so we will have slopy joe's on whole wheat bread for dinner...easy and quick.

half frozen grapes, egmont cheese, mixed (and some stuffed!) olives, rice crackers, deli roasted roast beef, cooled (you hafta understand i'm not a real meat person) but it looked, and is, all divine!
