corn-ey!!

bought a few cukes and 4 ears of the last of the season corn fresh from the field. Two ears of corn were my dinner tonight, salt, pepper and butter....yum !!

stargazingboi 09-28-2016 03:57 PM

yesterday, I made spanish rice and homemade hot pockets filled with refried beans, pico de gallo, and avocado

Today, I looked and realized it's time we finished up the chili. I wasn't in the mood for a bowl. So, I used the chili and ate it like a sloppy joe, because lets face it sloppy joe is pretty much the same thing...just sweeter. :sunglass:

Kätzchen 09-28-2016 04:11 PM

I actually went grocery shopping yesterday, so I'm planning on having some roasted ears of corn (just one), and grilling some chicken tenderloins on the hibachi. I might have some dark red grapes too, for dessert.

Chad 09-28-2016 06:11 PM

Dinner

My lady made us minestrone soup with crusty bread and pineapple pudding for dessert. Ice tea to drink.

Yummy!

Two English muffins drowning in Irish butter. Supper of champions 2.0

I actually love cooking but by Wednesday night the leftovers are gone and so is my motivation.

Gemme 09-28-2016 07:29 PM

I had a juicy, lean burger with MW, thick tomato slices, pickles and baby arugula for green stuff with baked curly fries and a bunch of mandarin oranges. I'm in no danger of developing scurvy now!

Orema 09-28-2016 07:41 PM

I just came to the alarming realisation that I didn't have any protein tonight...:seeingstars: Can see myself getting a bit hungry again before bed.

Anyway, my supper was:

Rice mixed with peanut sauce, leftover oyster mushrooms and three banana peppers sauteed (direct from farmer...part of my awesome Niagara fruit/veggie stand haul from this past weekend!). Also ate three peaches while I was making supper, lol (also from Niagara haul).

Skipped dinner in lieu of adult activities....ie painting my ceilings...

I'm thinking sesame sticks sound pretttyyy good about now...and mayhaps a beer.

Bèsame* 09-29-2016 09:02 PM

We ate out and the best part was the Shiner Beer. I haven't had a beer in awhile. It was so ice cold, it was just what I was waiting for !!

We've tried a few different Gardein products, and we've liked all of them. Pete especially likes Mandarin Chik'n, which we eat with vegetarian dumplings and a bowl of edamame. We call this meal 'junky Chinese food' since it's like something you get at a food court.

I wonder how your partner makes the fried 'fish'.

femmeandstrong 09-30-2016 04:57 AM

will make Salisbury steak with gravy...over Amish noodles... a simple salad...

Have tried the Mandarin Chicken as well but don't eat it as often. Beef tips and fish are the big ones for us haha.

For the home made vegan fish n' chips I'm not sure the details as my partner's the one who makes that recipe but I know it involves frying tempeh in homemade beer batter. So addictive!

I'm baking a pasta casserole, for supper tonight: protein -plus pasta shells, sliced portabello mushrooms, sweet onion, tiny broccoli buds, roasted cloves of garlic and smothered in an Parmesean type sauce. I'm also thinking about making some kind of sweet dessert.... maybe Lemon bars with graham cracker crust or maybe some small apple tarts? Lemon herbal tea to sip on, after supper.
