Ohhh yes non written down recipes are always best. My mom refuses to tell me the recipe for one of the family cakes, I've never seen a recipe card out when she makes it. She says I'm not ready to know Lol

CherryWine 08-22-2017 09:17 PM

Arepas de queso, pork tamale, chips & guacamole, margaritas

Gemme 08-23-2017 05:11 AM

Last night, I had turkey dogs, a big salad (not ala Seinfeld but still a big one) and ice cream because it made my throat feel better.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Tonight, I have a casserole baking in the oven. I cut up the left over chicken breast I roasted yesterday, and added quinoa, tiny broccoli buds, minced celery and onion, and sliced up some sweet yellow bell peppers, and added a touch of water and Sweet Vidalia Onion sauce. It's baking right now and it smells so good. *heaven *

Water over crushed ice (to drink).:rrose:

FieryRedhead 08-23-2017 09:25 PM

I've made a meal out of Cheetos and lemonade more than once. (Minus the friend egg sammich. But they're yummy if that yoke is just a little runny.)

justkim 08-30-2017 01:42 PM

family traditions

Growing up in a military family you had to be creative with stretching your pennies. My mom makes this fantastic spaghetti that's made from Campbell's Tomato soup (not generic or it doesn't turn out right) you saute about a 1/4 cup of diced onions, then you add a (1 lb) ground beef (tried it with ground turkey, it was so so) add salt and pepper (a lot) once the ground beef has been cooked you add a large can and one small can of tomato soup, mix together. We use shell macaroni (or whatever you have on hand) cook according to the bag or box. Once everything is cooked you combine everything. I promise you won't be disappointed. Serve with garlic bread. It always tastes better the next day.
So now that I've bored you with my crazy family spaghetti on the cheap... this is what we are having for dinner tonight.

FireSignFemme 08-30-2017 05:05 PM

Well, I made chicken. Supposedly oven baked fried chicken for a late lunch/early dinner... I guess it really does matter if you dunk the chicken in the the flour before dipping it in the eggs... It turned out - shellacked. However I did luck out on sending my son to the market to fetch me a watermelon. He picked me out a really nice one. I chopped off one end with a great big, could have featured in the movie Halloween or the Shining, butcher knife. And now I'm sitting here with a melon ball scoop looking at a what will soon be an empty dish. And best yet, one I won't have to wash.

girl_dee 08-30-2017 05:13 PM

i was going to have soup but instead i am having zoodles and adouille sausage

:girleating:

RockOn 08-30-2017 06:25 PM

I ordered Hunan Chicken, told her 3 times to cook veggies so they are not crunchy, hold the baby corn and make it extra spicy. After a 20 minute wait, I was walking out the door with it and decided to check it.

Veggies were raw and crunchy, visible baby corns and not one tiny bit spicy. I asked for a refund.

Walked next door to Papa Johns Pizza place. Now waiting 15 minutes for a large The Works on thin crust extra well done. We'll see how this works out.

Gemme 08-30-2017 06:34 PM

Pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GeorgiaMa'am 08-30-2017 07:46 PM

The pizza was magnificent in every way. I had 2.5 pieces ... was completely full and satified.

Gemme, hope you enjoyed your pizza as much as I did mine! :)

Princess 08-30-2017 09:40 PM
