M is downtown again and I don't feel good and I'm missing one of my favorite dances... so I'm calling out for sushi and eating my feelings in a healthy way.

Ethiopian food and Ben & Jerry's Scotchy Scotch Scotch. I dreamed that I tried that flavor and really liked it but in reality, it wasn't as good as my fave: Red Velvet Cake flavor.

It was late and I was in the mood for something decadent but everything I have at home looked so healthy and boring, and it was too close to bed time to order out. I managed to scrounge up some old annoyingly healthy pancake mix and syrup. The pancakes ended up not being what I'd hoped for, but bad pancakes are like bad sex -- still pretty good! BB wasn't eating dinner because hy had a stomach ache tonight and kept saying, "You're torturing me with those pancakes! They smell so good!" I kept saying, "Trust me, they're not so good!" Anything being fried usually smells delicious :).

Tonight:

chicken filets pan fried in butter, a little salt/pepper.
sliced onion, mushrooms, and thyme sauteed in a little butter.
sliced provolone cheese.

I added the onion mixture to the tops of the chicken filets and then added the sliced cheese, placed in broiler for a few minutes till cheese melted and browned. We had this with fresh steamed broccoli. I enjoyed a winter cider and my wife enjoyed a glass of red wine.
