Tonight I am responding to a post that I had a question about....after being outside readying a trailer for travels to an estate sale! I saw a few (ahem) items that I want so off I go tomorrow morning, trailer in tow! It is freezing here with this blustery wind....and although it is usually dark here due to no street lights in the woods....its a really dark sky tonight....eerily so. I am happy to be back inside and fussing on my computer here at BFP.

listening to the thuds and bumps of the outside noises. ~ wishing I had a fire place because it would be roaring right now! ~

For me, it is a simple ancient gesture to show that the gravesite was visited and the deceased is not forgotten. For some it is also a form of invitation to ask the deceased to come and spend some time with you.
A more traditional visit would have prevented the leaving of flowers but this is a more complex issue. Its reasoning is very interesting but I'll leave that research to you lol. Essentially it is based on the belief that we all leave this earth as we came to it and as equals .
So, "What am I doing today?" ...I'm thanking not2shygrrl and homoe for their kindness.
