I love and collect stationery and cards. Most of my collection is the kawaii style though some isn't. I keep my collection of stationery and stickers in three lunch boxes and need to get a fourth as I'm expanding my collection. I also love pens but have never tried fountain pens yet. I'd like to. But I have pens with all different colored ink. I have three different colors of wax and two seals and I'd love more! |

OMG...what a wonderful thread! I no longer have them but I used to love a refillable fountain pen & ink wells! My first love of these developed in early grade school...when our desks had them.... I love a sleek, fine, exquisite ink pen, feeling her sleek, coolness in my hand..the smell of an open bottle of ink..changing tips....oh my..days gone by! It is really warming my heart to recall these items...I had several wax stamps as well. The really nice stationery, the velvety crinkles of it..of the pressed papers....yum. The papyrus papers are my absolute fave. Vellum is okay but something about the texture is off putting to me...don't know why.. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Medusa. My favorite pens are the Italian & Waterman ones......I LOVE the indigo & teal inks best!

Medusa! Thank you for starting this thread...I just squealed when I saw it! At the risk of sounding like a kinky geek, stores like Office Max or Staples turn me ON! I could spend hours looking at pens, inks, papers and stationary. Stationary with matching envelopes! I used to do calligraphy quite a bit, and I've recently been encouraged to get back into it. I think on my vacation maybe my sweetheart and I will have to go into a store like that! I'd love to have a fountain pen again. I love to have pen in hand and write...now I'm dreaming of purple and pink inks! You made my day Medusa! |

I have 2 Waterman fountain pens that I've had for going on 16 years and love them both (I was working a 2nd job at Staples and was able to get them for next to nothing!) Also have an Italian Aurora fountain pen that was given to me as a birthday gift about 10 years ago and it's my fave. Looks like this: Both of my Watermans are currently filled with Private Reserve ink. One in Black Cherry: And one in Black Magic Blue: My Aurora is currently filled with the ink I got during Yule. Its the Iroshizuku line from Pilot and that entire line are centered around colors found in vintage Japanese art:

LOVE the pens....I like the ones done in a blue marbled look...or a teal...and LOVE the finite silver filigree like work on the barrel ring! Those inks are divine. I didn't know of the last one BUT it is really cool..thanks for sharing!! Quote:

I actually used to have a Montblanc! It was vintage and I got it at a yard sale in a big ziplock bag full of highlighters and pens. I was a young, broke college student back in the day and those office supplies were like a Godsend. When I got the bag home and discovered the pen, I was so excited! It was beautiful! I cleaned it up and used it for a year or two but then I made the mistake of checking it's value on eBay .gif) It was worth $300!! I ended up selling it on eBay a short time later when I needed money to fix my truck. Pretty good little profit off of a bag that cost .50 originally

Oh my, I love this topic too. I know someone who has hundreds of pens, and that is too much for me! Especially when I tried making a mark with each one. But I am in love with handwriting and paper of various types. My favorite types of pens are old school ones with some weight that twist open and calligraphy pens. I have tons of different size nibs, but need to get some new pen holders. I love handwriting and typography and just bought some new ink so that I can get back into practicing calligraphy. I started practicing Japanese again and been using this brush pen I have and it makes beautiful strokes. I was also recently in an art supply store and was going insane over so many of the amazingly beautiful textured handcrafted papers they had. I wanted to take them all home and keep them forever. Oh I also love colored pens that smell, like a red cherry scented one I used recently.

gotoseagrl What is the brush pen you mention in your post? I've quoted you below... "I started practicing Japanese again and been using this brush pen I have and it makes beautiful strokes." You also mentioned loving different types of paper...for letter writing I use Verge De France...great writing paper. Greco |

I know we have a pen pals thread - Wondering if they just send letters back and forth? I might love sending a letter or two myself! I am currently obsessed with Diamine shimmer inks and trying not to indulge until I use some of the ink I already have (like 20 bottles EEEK!)
