i think if Casey, Lauren, Haley, or the Scotty were to get the boot Interscope would scoop them up. I'm not sure if Interscope has the rights to the top 10. I can tell you that the producer who helps the contestants each week isn't there to just help through the week. He is there to pick up the pieces as they fall (hence Pia was picked up).

Being in the industry i have my thoughts on the whole Idol concept. i think when you leave "big" decisions to the public it is a mistake. I think one runs into issues like with Pia. When you have websites geared to voting for the underdogs year after year and knocking out true talent there is a problem.

I also believe and have said from the beginning that it is "fixed" They know what makes for good programing and "good TV".

It is a business and business is in it to make money and when a label has to put out millions to make a number one song a hit on the charts they need to know they will recoup that money. You are not going to put that kind of money ESPECIALLY in these economical times into someone that is not going to be able to sell enough so the labels recoup what they put into them.

I'd say your two cents are worth 2 loonies, Musicman.

I really really REALLY do not like Jacob. He is smarmy and icky and makes my skin crawl.

Paul makes me smile.

Lauren is my fave of the girls but I think she made a huge mistake picking a Miley song.

Casey isn't my cuppa tea but he is very talented.

I have a soft spot for James because of the whole pushing through the Tourette's.

Scotty made me sad by not singing the first choice. I love love love that song and think it would have showcased his talent in a different way. Plus (shhhh) I'm not that fond of that particular song that he sang.

I don't vote because of my hours but I would vote for Scotty over and over and over. hee. I may have a crush.

Hailey is super talented.

And I was pleasantly surprised by Stephano--although I thought he was practicing his exit song.
