Bottle in hand watching as the amber liquid swirls round
Taking refuge for the dreams that haunt me Take away the false words and promises Yes I am stronger for the pain Others pay the price of her duplicity They deal with the ice that encases my heart At least it is no longer on my sleeve It is locked far away with words I can no longer say yes Stronger for the pain Guarded, Cynical, walls up good and high But worth the risk to see inside You know not what you let slip away...
