Her smile of pain

She walks through life with a smile upon her face
One would never know of her pain or her struggles
She aches for the dawn of a brighter day
When she can breathe with relief and enjoy her simple space

to look into her world most would crumble in disbelief
For she carries a mountain of weight much upon her tired shoulders
She faces death every second of every day and still her smiles remains
The torment she must endure to keep them safe is an ocean of grief

She carries out her duties with love and determination to those under her care
For she would have it no other way, than to tend to them by her own loving hand
Her tears washed away by the gentle loving smile she graces them with in her gentle way
Her fears never spoken aloud, for she hides them from away, never to share

She never thinks herself an angel, because what she does is out of love
Each commission she performs with her devoted hands and a tender kiss
She holds them close to her bosom as if she will never let them go
For she knows in her heart they will go one day on the wings of the white dove

She walks through life with a smile upon her face
You will never know her anguish for you will never see her tears
Hold your hand out to her in an genuine gesture of support
For you never know when that act will keep her going and keep the smile upon her face.
