What do you see
When you look at me?
Do you see a person who
Hides behind a mask of smiles?
Or do you see the outer package
From years of pain?
Do tell me, what do you see
When you look at me?

What do you see
When you look at me?
Do you see a round plump face
With a bright smile
And eyes that hide oceans
Of tears that have been cried?
What do you see?

What do you see ?
Do you see the shell of life
Which has been beaten down
From years of cruelty and pain?
Can you see any of the real me?

What do you see
When you look at me?
Can you see the heart
Which yearns to be loved in return?
The soul which withers away
From it’s solitary existence?
Can you see me?

What do you see
When you look at me?
The ample arms which ache
From lack of touch and loneliness?
Do you see what is left of me?

What you see
is all that remains
From a loveless existence
A soul beaten and drained of life
A heart shattered
Do you see what is left of me?

What do you see
When you look at me?
Is a soul waiting
For death to take it away
That is what you see
When you look at me!
