The ultimate eulogy to a talented young woman who had her demons stoked by those closest to her. Not an original story. Unfortunately. I'd recommend seeing it only if you are/were a die-hard fan of Amy Winehouse. Otherwise, wait for on-demand or Netflix and then only a bargain matinee because it's more like an E True Hollywood Story than a rich documentary. But, then again, she wasn't around long, but she did leave a mark. |

Before We Go (2014) Stars: Chris Evans, Alice Eve,
A young woman in New York City races to catch the 1:30 Train to Boston and after missing it connects with a good samaritan  I really liked this movie! For the most part it's just the two title characters set against the backdrop of New York City. Throughout the movie we learned what each characters life has entailed and not in a whinny sort of way either! If you've ever had unanswered questions from a failed relationship, you might enjoy this movie

If you're a fan of the film The Long Good Friday you may enjoy this video on the making of it.
The Long Good Friday is a classic British gangster film. It stars Bob Hoskins, Helen Mirren, with Pierce Brosnan in his first role (a small role, but a good one). The film's about a successful British gangster whose organization is imploding on Good Friday just as he's trying to forge a bond with an American gangster. It's very good. The storyline was complex at times with some twists—a good film and worth watching. |

We saw Meru yesterday. The GF and I take turns with our choice of movies.
Meru was her choice. She loves any kind of sports or mountain climbing movie. I don't get the risks climbers take in climbing mountains, but it was a very good documentary and I am glad that I saw it.

I woke up wicked early today...like 4 or 5...and started watching Being Flynn...but I fell back to sleep...soo...Im gonna finish it later...what I saw seemed really good...
Oh and I watched part of Steel Magnolias today...because it was on TV....

Based purely on the action, it was fantastic. As a fan of the franchise, it's not the same without Jason Statham and I kept focusing on the new guy's teeth. He can fight and he's got a sexy voice but I really want to hold him down and put braces on his teeth. Plus his dad must be a shit spy to get kidnapped and ambushed as much as he does in this film. No wonder they only gave him 791 euros.

I watched S.W.A.T. with Colin Farrell. I found it to be quite good. It kept my interest.
I also watched a version of Jane Eyre I hadnt seen...with Joan Plowright and William Hurt. Always a favorite. I TRIED to watch The Prince with Bruce Willis...yeah no

Yesterday I saw this movie:
I liked it because I knew what I was getting into. It's an Adam Sandler film. It's fun and childish and is going to have good to great graphics. I was not disappointed. I even enjoyed myself quite a bit. This, on the other hand......this disappointed me. Actually, Samuel L. Jackson disappointed me. He's too good of an actor to be playing these shit roles and too much of a badass to be believable as a weak and clueless politician. I might be scarred for life. |
