This morning I listened to an audio dharma podcast about distraction and now I am listening to the "in the rabbit hole urban survival podcast" on beekeeping.

I originally found a podcast called zencast about 8 years ago and discovered a guy named Gil Fronsdal speaking sometimes there. I really love his presence and perspective and when he seemed to disappear from that podcast I searched for him through my phone's podcast app and found audio dharma.

Most of the podcasts I listen to are either word of mouth recommendations or are from searching my interests through the iPhone app. i tend to go for gardening, spirituality/philosophy, crime and culture in my podcasts - but it's usually the personalities that draw me back. I listened to car talk for years just because those guys made life feel better to me.

I've been listening to "Racist Sandwich" and it's amazing! It explores the racist roots of food culture and is SO WELL DONE!

Also, I loved the "Finding Richard Simmons" series that ended too soon for my taste. Other faves: "Loving BDSM" - A weekly show about all things BDSM done from the perspective of a couple who also have a Daddy/girl dynamic. "Stuff You Should Know" - Super interesting! "You Must Remember This" - Old Hollywood Lore "WTF" with Marc Maron - He does interviews that are fascinating and cutting "99% Invisible" - Talks all about the nuances of marketing and design. Super interesting. I listen to several more like "NPR Politics" and "This American Life" and "Dan Savage Lovecast" as well!

Oh cool! I kept meaning to do a search for a podcast thread or create one! Medusa... looks like you have a few I need to check out! I too listen to several from NPR.

I try not to watch too much news cuz it's just so annoying but listening doesn't seem to bother me quite so much! News Anderson Cooper 360 MSNBC Morning Joe MSNBC Rachel Maddow Humor and/or Interview Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin <-- he's grown on me some Death, Sex and Money <-- is an interview-style podcast hosted by Anna Sale that discusses the big questions "often left out of polite conversation The Tobolowky Files <-- annoying BING! dude from Groundhog Day He's had some interesting adventures! He's a great story teller and his voice alone makes me smile Educational Naked Scientists <-- BBC and there a dozens for different fields of study. Discovery <-- BBC again ... science stuff Invisibilia <-- kinda new, 2015 "explores the intangible forces that shape human behavior—things like ideas, beliefs, assumptions and emotions." I usually listen to podcasts as I'm winding down or headed off to sleep. My brain doesn't always shut off so listening to something benign ... emotionally neutral (?) lol ... helps me to go to sleep. <-- ya can't listen and think as the same time. Sleep Stories From The Boarder of Sleep <-- stories Atmosphonic - Sounds To Help You Relax and Sleep <-- just discovered this one. I like their files Waves and Afternoon Thunderstorm |

I have been listening to Pod Save the People with DeRay McKesson. He touches on important issues not necessarily in the news.

I find I don't have nearly enough time to listen to as many podcasts as I would like.

Just discovered a cool new podcast ...

Stay Tuned with Preet - Join former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara for a podcast about justice and fairness. If the name sounds familiar ... he was the "U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York" who Trump first said to stay and then fired. It was really interesting to hear Preet describe how all that went down... That Time President Trump Fired Me (with Leon Panetta) |
