I finally saw "The Martian" starring Matt Damon. I really enjoyed it.

I streamed 3 A.M. and liked it.
Starring Danny Glover, Pam Greer, Michele Rodriquez, Sarita Choudhury. Got to see life from the POV of some cab drivers. Music was good with some interesting story lines. Nothing to write home about, but it wasn't a waste of time. Also saw Die Hard and that was good. Think I'm gonna see The Big Short tomorrow or Thursday... |

Saw Sisters with two of my besties.... kept thinking we shoulda smuggled in margaritas. It had funny moments, but would have been better if we'd been home watching it with a bunch of muchies and drinks. We were the loudest laughers in the theater...LOL

I saw two movies tonight and both were visually spectacular.
I saw this movie and liked it. It's an interesting twist on an old story. And I saw this one in the theatre with a ton of people, including at least one baby under the age of 1, who should not have been there but I guess they didn't have a babysitter. There were a ton of excellent things to extol about this movie, including just how funny it was, but there are a couple of things that bugged me. I won't go all spoiler alert central station but I will say that Mark Hamill clearly has a kickass agent for second billing and having an assistant. |

Saw this yesterday.
I liked it a lot, though I thought it was hyped up to much. Its trying to appeal to the first fans as well as a new generation. Its basically the same story as we have seen before, but with a new ppl as well as some of the original cast. There are a few twists that are different. The air battles are great. Worth going to see,but I was left feeling a bit deflated. Judge for yourselves. |

The Big Short.
It was good, but I really didn't care for it. The focus of the film is on the crooks, not the investigation. All The Presidents Men, Zodiac, and Spotlight are films that focus on finding the truth, opposed to making the crooks (or bad guys) look good. A bunch of realtors were watching the movie, too, and those loud asses were cheering on the crooks. As we all know, the little guy or the everyday guy was the big loser in the housing bust of 2008, not the crooks (banks and Wall Street). One good thing ... A lot of people blamed immigrants and poor people for the housing bust (snort), when the real problem was the bankking deregulation in the 1980s that allowed lenders to offer sub-prime mortgages that were then re-packaged into bundles and sold to investors. They did show that. Still, I left with the feeling that the crooks were glorified. Maybe it's because of the crowd I watched it with. So all that put together left me not really enjoying the good performances. I'll watch it again when it comes out on DVD to see if I feel the same. I'll be interested to hear what others think about this. |

I watched Howards End this morning....
I could've sworn that I had seen it before...but it wasn't the movie I thought it was at all. I have to Google the movie where Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson play butler and housekeeper in a very large house. That's the movie I thought I was seeing. Either way, I was in the mood for a historical drama and it suited me...right up until the end. It seemed rather abrupt.

Wish You Well (2013) Ellen Burstyn Josh Lucas
A young girl and her brother come of age at their great grandmother's house in Virginia during the 1940s. It moved a bit slow but over all I enjoyed it! Check it out and see what you think! |

I finally watched Silver Linings Playbook. I give it 3.5 out of 5. It was entertaining, but I felt like it was trying to go somewhere that it never got to.

The Revenant
Good and engaging, but bloody. The music was very nice, too. I would watch it again if it wasn't so bloody. |
