A gorgeous day here. Honey has to work half a day, so will be a real quiet day for me & Heidi!
Working on my crafts....organizing packages received on penpal project! I plan on taking it easy today...resting my neck. Wishing all the Mothers on here a Happy Mother's Day! My mom passed in 1998 BUT I STILL miss her very much!! Hoping everyone's day is easy & peaceful...and the week ahead a joyful one! Hugs to all.....

Happy Mother's Day, and Happy Sunday everyone!
I will of course be calling my mom in a little while. We usually get together, just the two of us, for Mother's Day and my birthday, but it snuck up on me this year. (I have to be the one to actually organize the date.) It is very special to me, it's the only time of year when I get my mom all to myself. I had leftover Chinese food for breakfast, and it was a little on the greasy side so now I feel a little blah, but it was delicious. I will probably skip lunch though. It is supposed to get up to 86 today, which will be nice after a week of winter-like temps. (Highs in the 60s all week long - very weird. I even had to dig back in my wardrobe and find a couple of sweaters. Temps were in the 40s in the mornings when I headed out to work.) I just got some lab test results online - I have a staph infection on my big toe.  Very, very unhappy about this. I've heard friends talk about how long it took them to get rid of it. So, hopefully when I check in with you folks next Sunday, I will still have 10 toes.Have a great week everybody!

Good morning all. Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms. My mom passed in 2012. Of course I am thinking of her today. Sometimes I am surprised how much I miss my mom.

Along with the usual diner meal stuff there will probably be some seafood and/or prime rib as that’s usually what our local, family friendly buffet places offer on holidays to upgrade the menu, make it more special. I will probably have lots of prawns, lots of mushrooms, too much mashed potatoes and gravy and save room for soft serve chocolate ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream, sprinkles and cherries for toppings. Even though this year I’m dieting – not on Mother’s Day! Diet resumes tomorrow, meantime after buffet when my sons ask if there’s anything I need or want that they can get me before taking me home I am going to ask them to take me through a drive through to pick up a 20 oz. latte plain, no sweeteners, with an extra shot of expresso, very little ice, and unsweetened almond milk - please. I've got such patient, thoughtful sons and they just spoil me rotten they really they do.   |

The lines get crazy long but when that happens they send one or two kids out to take orders along down the line which they then text to the young people working inside the huts who make one drink right after the next. So the whole thing moves along quickly you don’t stay stuck in line long at all by the time you get to the window your drinks are ready. They even have little card scanners at some locations which makes it go even faster as you can pay when they take your order car side. If you go to a Dutch Bros. and see a long line you’ll actually spend less time in it than you would at a Starbucks drive thru here with a shorter line. We still like Starbucks and go there occasionally but most of the time we just want our caffeine fix, aren’t into paying for the atmosphere and fancy logo printed on everything that drives the prices up at Starbucks. . |

Read my sunday paper,then went and got 1 1/2 yds of lava rock. Unloaded 1/2 of it in flower beds.
dad wanted popeyes chicken and the 87 yo always wins the request battle. Dad ate alot! [4 biscuits with marionberry jam] ....he,s a bit too skinny so we do all we can to help his appetite. I thought of my mom alot today too! Oh and a iced mocha! |

Turning into a warm, sunny day with awesome blue skies!!! Honey is sewing on a new quilt...her quilts are amazing!! I am working in my craft room.....
