Big Tru Blood fan...
I've been ready the books for years, and wasn't all that interested in a tv show based on them.. (I was like.. what? How about Anita Blake????) But I was pleasantly suprised.. The show is more complex and involved than the books...I love the chart development ... Lafette is my favorite.. |

I am going to pick the books up and try them. I remember my writing partner insisting that I had to read them, but when I did try, I just could not get into them.
And I agree! Lafayette is the bomb-diggity! He cracks me up. |

I used to call the books.. *The harlequen romances of the Supernatural World* They were on my fluff list as something I could read at work... You know, something you could walk away from and then pick up again in two days... (I may have some slight issues with *eating* books that I think are really good) Mitmo got me hooked on the show... She was like.. *damn, you have to watch this..* Lol.. Any suprise that Maryann was my lotus eater's favorite?? |

I adore Jessica. Her translation of permanent teen angst into the foreverness of a vampire really works for me. I particularly adored the line "You are going to be sorry when I get an eating disorder" to Bill.
And his whole reaction to realizing that he is now the parent of one sassy, scared, wildly wicked bad girl has been fascinating. The character development has been a bit slow for me on some characters. Sam has grown but Sookie doesn't really change that much. Jason on the other hand has been a source of hilarity. Gods, he's dumb but so pretty to look at. He's like the caricature of the gorgeous blond only in male format. So who do YOU think snatched Bill at the end? Erik is the obvious choice, but I am leaning towards the Fellowship of the Sun. |

Okay so I bought the first book. It's a bit weird reading it since I already KNOW what is going to happen!
Not a huge fan of 1st person either but so far it's entertaining. |

I'm not a big fan of the books.
They have all that corny, cringe-worthy writing that I hate about that genre. The series seems to have picked up an edginess that the books definitely lack. Quote:
I was pleasantly surprised by Evan Rachel Wood as Queen Sophie. I think she did a great job and I hope they decide to continue with her. |

I'm actually crushing on Jessica. Just something about her innocence at the beginning and now she's turned into a bad girl just roaming about, especially when Bill isn't around to babysit her. This new season should be interesting...

Lafayette needs to learn to keep his mouth closed.
Bill making demands of Marnie, ugh. It sounded so contrived. I spent time fussing at the television, "Bill, realllllllly? Shush now and let Eric speak." I was (still am) beyond peeved at Pam's "gnash in a sun dress" line. That is certainly creative license and will result in an email telling producers just how unnecessary those words were. Was it just me? |

Marcus was just sooooooooo sleazy...his voice reminds me of a guy i knew back in the 80s whom i nicknamed "the snake" because i was convinced the snake in the Garden of Eden sounded just like that guy...LOL That final scene was way too tranquil so i wasn't surprised at what happened... Andy in the woods...ew...never ever wanted to see his nekkid rear in the moonlight...ew ew ew!!! But i am in mourning today...i'm moving next weekend and will not have HBO so i will miss the last episode of the season. And TWC does not have HBO Go either...

I am also sick to freaking death of this "Lafayette is a Medium" storyline. He needs to learn how to put a cap on that shit.

Hey now! That jacket ain't bad solo. With that dress, not so much.
I would pair it with a rockin pair of boot cut jeans and my fav Ariats. In fact, I may have to go see if I can find one :P @Bête re: Lafayette is a medium. It is getting old. Jess asks me where the story is headed because I've read the books. More oft than not, this season, my standard answer is, "Not a clue.". I really wish the writers would veer a tad more towards the books. I must say, Jason was precious in his defense of Sookie with Bill and Eric. I was working in the kitchen during the show and could be heard yelling, "Give Pam a break, Eric. She just loves you, Bonehead.". I won't share my family's reaction to such commentary, but I think "certifiable" was a part of it. Ha! I still don't like Bill as king. The dominant persona just seems contrived. Russell, in all of his 20lbs of crazy in a 5lb bag, as well as Eric just do a much more believable job. |
