I miss family unity, knowing someone is there for you, knowing the smiles and the laughter that will be there at home, having family to just be with for no reason at all.

I miss when phones were phones and nothing else. I miss the days when you called someone and just hung up if they weren't there or you hung up if you got a busy signal.

I don't like call waiting, call forwarding, or any of those things because I always end up hanging up on everyone.

And anyway, being attached to a phone 24/7 cramps my style.

Things I miss as a couple ....

Going to our favorite pub on a Sunday morning, splitting the Sunday paper, reading, chatting and drinking coffee over a hot breakfast, then going home for a lazy afternoon.

Going to the bookstore just to browse the books in the isle. Maybe flirt a bit when we pass each other.

Reaching out for hys hand in the middle of the night.

I miss my parents around this time of year. I wish I appreciated them when they were still alive. The older I get, the more I realize how good they were as parents and how much they gave me (not just materially)

not the political thread here..lol..i read it from time to time but find it too stressful trying to figure out people..because you will never distill them enough to find out why...other than their gene pool is obviously slightly different then mine...and I am really trying to be kind here
