McMenamins is one of many restaurant pubs I've always enjoyed..... definitely treat yourself to pizza or salads or any entrée they offer on their menu. You will be delighted by the food, the service and the natural history of each location owned by the McMenamin brothers.

If you scroll back through posts here you should find some great ones of Chicago and Milwaukee.

It's been years since I've been to Michigan but I did post about a pizza joint in Detroit that is suppose to have the best pizza! Gail King mentioned it in her column in Oprah magazine!

If you're going to be in Chicago this up coming weekend may I suggest the Sephora's at 108 North State Street. It's not only a great place to shop at but a delightful place for just people watching as well.

There's hardly any parking around their nearly 45 (?) year old business, but the views of the "Three Graces" in the bay, the seafood cuisine, and friendly dining experience makes their restaurant an one-of-kind dining experience. Most often, reservation is required for evening meals.
