Yesterday at the science conference I received compliments for my work in the field of coastal restoration. It makes me happy that so many scientists appreciate my work.

I was thinking about my old kitty that passed last year. She loved to retrieve things and bring them to me. I remember once I saw her try to drag a blanket over to me.

I was not present for the funniest story. I went to Italy and had a friend take care of her for three weeks. When I picked her up my friend asked me about the retrieving behavior and I told her that it was normal for the kitty. My friend told me that she was shocked when my kitty ran down the hall with my friend's bra in her mouth and between all her legs. Haha! Great visual.

I've been gone for several days, so when I got home tonight and picked up my mail, I received an huge stack of post cards and cards, all bundled up together by rubber band! Our postal carrier retired from our mail route back in July after nearly 30 some odd years of work for the US Postal Service. It took them about two months to find a permanent mail carrier to replace our mail lady, so it was so nice to see that weeks of mail that was seemingly missing, had finally arrived!

To say I smiled is not nearly as accurate as to say that I Swooooned! But yes, definately, I smiled!!!
