Why You Should Care About Nutrition This video is part of an experiment to find ways to appeal to those new to the site. So much of what I do is targeted towards those who already know the basics, but in the user survey about a thousand of you filled out a few weeks ago, many of your asked for me to take a step back and do some videos targeted more towards those new to evidence-based nutrition. http://nutritionfacts.org Taking Personal Responsibility for Your Health The Philosophy of NutritionFacts.org "Getting Started with NutritionFacts.org Introduction There are diets proven to not only prevent and treat but reverse our #1 killer, heart disease, along with other deadly diseases such as type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Yet doctors get little if any formal nutrition training in medical school, graduating without some of the most powerful tools available to stop the chronic diseases that remain our leading causes of death and disability. Here at NutritionFacts.org, we believe that a significant part of the problem is that individuals who want to make the correct dietary choices for themselves and their families are faced with a deluge of confusing and conflicting nutritional advice. Our goal is to present you and your doctor with the results of the latest in peer-reviewed nutrition and health research, presented in a way that is easy to understand." Greco |

I have learned a lot from the very informative posts that have been made here, over the years. Like many, I too thought the documentary Forks Over Knives was worth watching. So very informative.
I recently came across a food documentary that talks about the types of food we eat and how it affects our brain. It's a BBC doc, and I liked it a lot. I have had a life long struggle with food that is sugary or foods that convert instantaneously to sugar in your blood stream. I learned a lot from the presentation of little known food facts in this documentary.
