Last night I did some more research concerning the apartments I'm on wait lists for. One has a much longer wait list than we were told. The other has some bad reviews I wasn't aware of. However I've been here a lot longer than I cared to and it hasn't killed me yet. Also, the place I'm in now had bad reviews before I moved in and other than some smashed in pumpkins and missing decorations a couple of Halloweens it's nowhere near as bad as people said it was.

Anyhow we went to see about getting my name on a wait list for some still being built. It turned out I didn't have to go on a wait list because they had a one bedroom left. Just one still up for rent. Very surprising because they had an open house about a week ago for people to sign up which I didn't know about. Usually there are far more people applying than there are apartments to rent. I was sure they'd be gone by now and the wait list a mile long. I'm still having a hard time believing this is really happening!

A whole lot of work got done today, plus I got a few paper cuts (ouch, they still sting and hurt), and I got a whole lot of walking in at work. My legs feel like they're gonna stage a coup and not walk anymore, lol.

Other than lots of work, I plan to do a whole lotta laying around this weekend, right after work tomorrow.

Paid down a big bill; put some $$$ on my transit pass; made a homemade thank you card for an executive at work who treated me to a slice of her homemade cheesecake that she brought to work (OMG it was yummy); went to counseling tonight, only to learn that I had to day wrong (it's tomorrow night -- guess what I'm doing tomorrow, *lol*); and currently planning a holiday menu for Thanksgiving (gosh, it's only 11 weeks from now, right?); and making plans for New Years Eve (I love to kick the winter blues away by visiting the coast and hanging out with long time friends).

Today I accomplished just being present. I probably should have taken time off of work, but I understand the burden it puts on others (and myself with having to make up an online class)......but I got through it

Of course, I won't remember the week. But I know people had a good laugh... haha I think i sang to a group of women too. lmao. i am sure they will remind me of it too.

Today marks 3 months and 23 days since I moved to my new home and although I still have boxes yet to unpack (I had a lot of stuff !! ), I am feeling a sense of accomplishment that I managed to leave a really bad neighborhood behind, when I didn't think I'd have the nerve to do it.

Sometimes, as one nears an elderly type age, it's not easy to pick up and start over. I used to do it all the time, move to new places, just to enjoy new surroundings. Moving last June was the best thing I've done in years, so I feel a big sense of accomplishment over doing just that (moving to a safer neighborhood).

Depending on what happens next year, I may move yet again.

I gave my two week notice at work today, right after I was on-boarded to my new work placement. October is such a nice month to begin a new chapter in my life.

I survived the brick challenge. That’s where I get to load and unload the decorative brick and hump them thru the yard to the back end of it in 95 degree heat while my sister watches. Her stupid bricks pfft!
To be fair she only weighs 93lbs. lol (lightweight)
