Flawless 2007 (Make sure it's Michael Caine & Demi Moore. There is also another movie with the same exact title (1999) that stars Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Robert De Niro.
In 1960s London, an elderly janitor convinces a glass-ceiling constrained executive to help him steal a handful of diamonds from their employer, the London Diamond Corporation. |

Gia is a 1998 American television biographical HBO film about the life and times of one of America's first supermodels, Gia Marie Carangi. The film stars Angelina Jolie, Faye Dunaway, as Wilhelmina Cooper, Mercedes Ruehl, and Elizabeth Mitchell.
Gia Carangi is a Philadelphia native who moves to New York City to become a fashion model, and immediately catches the attention of powerful agent Wilhelmina Cooper. Gia's attitude and beauty help her rise quickly to the forefront of the modeling industry, but her persistent loneliness, especially after the death of Wilhelmina, drives her to experiment with mood-altering drugs such as cocaine and heroin. She becomes entangled in a passionate affair with Linda, a make-up artist. Their love affair first starts when both pose nude for a photo shoot and make love afterward. Gia tries to get clean and begins taking methadone. However, Gia eventually starts using again, and Linda gives her an ultimatum. |

The Holiday (2006) Kate Winslet Cameron Diaz
The Holiday is an entertaining romp that succeeds on a level of pure escapism. The story follows two strangers Iris and Amanda - as they impulsively decide to swap houses for a couple of weeks, with Iris moving to Los Angeles and Amanda heading for England. Romance ensues after Amanda encounters Iris' smoldering brother Graham (Jude Law) and Iris forms a tentative bond with outgoing composer Miles (Jack Black). Meyers' screenplay hits all of the notes promised by the premise - including, of course, at least one fake break-up - and yet there's no denying the effectiveness of both Meyers' light-hearted touch and the almost uniformly likeable performances. |

The Ides of March...
Clooney's most accomplished directorial effort, The Ides of March details the behind-the-scenes turmoil of a political campaign as viewed through the eyes of a young but experienced strategist (Ryan Gosling's Stephen Meyers) - with the film inevitably exploring the betrayals and backstabbings that are part and parcel with the political world. For much of its first half, The Ides of March comes off as an entertaining yet far-from-engrossing drama that is, predictably, elevated by its performances - as Clooney has elicited stellar work from an impressive cast that includes, among others, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, and Evan Rachel Wood. (And this is to say nothing of Gosling's consistently mesmerizing turn as the movie's affable hero.) The progressively compelling atmosphere ensures that The Ides of March has, by the time it reaches its memorable conclusion, established itself as one of the most intriguing and flat-out engaging political dramas to come around in quite some time, with the protagonist's unexpectedly perilous journey ensuring that the film is often far more suspenseful than one might have initially anticipated.... ![]() |
