Nez Perce tribe of Idaho (Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Montana & Canada)
Chief Joseph was the leader of The Nez Perce tribal people.

The Nez Perce people were not only skilled fishermen but also known for their horsemanship and selectively breeding Appaloosa horses. The Nez Perce reservation is located in central upper Idaho, near White Bird Mountain and sprawling across the Clearwater Mountains region of northern Idaho. Chief Joseph was fearless and very protective of his tribal nation. Chief Joseph’s name from translation means: Thunder Rolling Down The Mountain. Although my mother was from the Blue Band of Cherokee in northern Carolina, my mother’s family is knitted into the Nez Perce tribe.
