I'm feeling very accomplished and secure. My pantry, fridge and freezer are straightened out, and I have bought groceries to fill in the gaps. I've got menu plans for the next week or so, and food for the next couple of weeks. My staples are full. My emergency backup shelf-stable food is full. There is plenty of chocolate in the house. All is well.

I'm feeling nostalgic. As I prepare to buy the house that my great great grandparents built, my mother found her father's diary of his upkeep of the house. I spent today spot sanding the floors and re-finishing them while thinking of all of my family who has walked those floors. Great Great Grandparents, Great grandparents, grandparents, my parents, my mother's cousins, my brother, my daughter, so many friends and extended family. I never met my maternal grandfather, he died young. But his diary of the house is... priceless. Every renovation, every purchase, down to every pound of nails, was detailed. He detailed every guest who came for any holiday, the day my mother moved from her nursery to her big room (she was 12!) It's a profound history to have. Nothing was taken for granted and everything was worked for, earned, paid off, and appreciated.

My Grandfather called my Grandmother "Spooky". We don't know why that was his pet name for her. I think it's because she was quiet and could easily "sneak up" on people when she was just being herself. I wish we knew the story for sure though.

The floors I'm finishing will never be perfect or pristine. I hope I never need to replace them. There's a lot of history in that wear and tear.

Disheartened. There are so many repairs that need to be made around my house, and today there's a new one - the right side railing of my stairs broke. The left one was already broken. And I really need those rails to get up and down the stairs.

I have several other minor repairs that need to be done, too, and I just can't afford to keep up with them all right now. In my younger days, I could have done most of them myself, and what really gets to me is now I'll have to pay someone an arm and a leg to do them.

It's really depressing and kind of embarrassing that I can't take care of all this myself, right away. But at least over the next few months I should be able to get some things fixed, at least the most important things.

A complexity of feelings resides in my life today: I’m feeling good due to time off to just breathe and enjoy life and festivities for my birthday (I’m 66, now).

I also feel sad and anxious and feel a good deal of closeted rage for all the many ways our lives are being impacted by a massively sick and deranged lunatic who is hell bent on making people suffer myriads of suffering that we don’t really need to suffer from. I truly hate that person with all my heart.

Feeling lucky I have friends who are really helping me yesterday and today.

I re-injured my hamstring yesterday, and was not able to walk. I was taken away in my first ride in an ambulance to the ER. Best Butch picked me up when I got discharged . I had to lay across the back seat. I left with a big brace and crutches. I'm so not figuring that out, really klutzy.

Today a couple of other friends are bringing my car back to me. And a couple of others want to bring me food.

Life is good when your surrounded by caring friends. Oh and not to mention all the messages I have gotten .

Blessed and lucky. As I look back at this previous post from just a few months ago, I can see that I was really at my wits' end. But since then, things have really turned around. People have come through for me, and new people have come into my life. Some money showed up when I needed it, and some discounts. Nothing cost "an arm and a leg", although it did cost - but it was affordable.

All my home repairs have been fixed except one, and that one is on the calendar, and the money is in the bank. I even got a few "extras" along the way, like my lovely Art Nouveau shower curtain and some other improvements for the bathroom.

Now I have some new concerns - like my tooth which needs to be extracted. But I am sure it will all work out. It always does, one way or another. Blessed and lucky, indeed.

That's a great update. There will always be challenges ahead. I'm glad you got caught up some before the next round.

I'm feeling like I have a LOT of to-do lists in front of me. Thankfully they are mostly to-do to get ready for things like camping two weekends in a row.

I am also feeling burny and itchy because I have poison ivy on not one foot but both feet. It's cruel. Anyone have a good home remedy? I've tried apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, salt water, tecnu, and ivarest. At least it stopped spreading but jeeze this is a pain. Literally.

MRI scheduled for left knee
Thyroid scan came back with a nuclear medicine scan next🤔
Bone density...osteopenia, more calcium and vitamin D please
Still wearing heart monitor and will see the cardiologist next week for results of monitor and echocardiogram, from earlier this week.

Still lots of physical therapy.
And let me tell you...I have to check my schedule daily.

I don't feel like there is anything serious going on. But it's good to know my Doctor is looking out for me.

I'll stick with feeling ... anxious

Pretty well. Maintenance and improvements are getting done around the house, which always makes me feel secure.

I'm considering a few trips to Mexico to get my teeth fixed. The difference in cost is so great that I'll save a bundle (and I mean many thou$and$) by traveling to a reputable clinic to get two implants, as opposed to getting them done here. Some clinics even help arrange transportation and hotel. There are even some clinics in Cancun! In the meantime, the antibiotics worked and I have no more pain. I just have to remember not to chew on that side.

Excited and frustrated. Has anyone here ever traveled to another country to get dental work done? Right now, I'm considering Mexico, Costa Rica and India, but there are others. I'm having trouble finding anyone in my network who has experience with dental tourism. Anybody? Anybody know anybody?

The best kind of exhausted. My kiddo and I took my nephew camping for the weekend. They share a birthday in a couple of weeks. Kiddo will be 26 and nephew will be 13. We had three wonderful days camping and hiking. We climbed a good size mountain, swam in a lake, played a lot of cards, built fires, roasted random foods over the fire to see how they turned out, and created some real good memories. All agree, this shall now be an annual event.

Feeling richer and more confident about my teeth.

I was unable to locate anyone I know, or a friend of a friend, who has engaged in dental tourism. I spoke to a highly recommended oral surgeon in Atlanta who wants $800 just for a consult, and $9000 for one implant (and I need two). Spoke to my dentist and he said that about half of the dental implants he sees from Mexico are done correctly. I don't like those odds.

Spoke to my dentist again and we were able to arrive at a solution for my cracked tooth for $1500, involving three fillings. I won't have a tooth there, but I will have three roots, which will preserve my jawbone. It may last the rest of my life, or it may only last some years without failing, but in five years I'll be able to get into my 401K. If it's ever necessary, my dentist thinks he can make it work by extracting the roots and putting in one implant.

My dentist and the other dentist in their office have been working on my teeth for 38 years. I trust them with my teeth more than anybody else at this point, so I'm going with them. Only drawback is it will be almost a month before I can get an appointment with both of them at the same time, but it's okay. I'm not in any pain. I have prescriptions and their cell phone numbers if I need them.

I may take a trip to Cancun at some time anyway, now that I know how cheap it is. But I'm getting my dental work done in Atlanta. I'll keep y'all apprised.

Feeling ..full of radium. Took a pill, but I don't feel different. The technician brought out this pill in this thick lead container like a bigger pill bottle. Inside that was a metal cylinder where the pill was. Interesting.

I go back in a few hours for a scan of my thyroid. The scan will show how much that pill was absorbed into the thyroid. And then I go back again tomorrow morning.

When I got the head scan back in Nov, checking for a concussion they found nodules on my neck. And then when I was getting the gallbladder out they saw them again. I'm like, quit looking for stuff! Lol
Anyways, my doc does not seem concerned. We are just checking it out. Cancer isn't in the family.

And better feelings...my heart is in great condition!
