I was browsing through a personal collection of favorite poems, this morning, and came across a poem by Sara Teasdale. When I read it, it felt like Teasdale was describing how I feel, right now, about the person I spend my time with and dearly love with all my heart. I dedicate this poem to my love (James) for all the many ways he lights a fire in my soul. Indeed, I am 'swept by the tempest of (James's) love'.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I Am Not Yours by Sara Teasdale I am not yours, not lost in you, Not lost, although I long to be Lost as a candle lit at noon, Lost as a snowflake in the sea. You love me, and I find you still A spirit beautiful and bright, Yet I am I, who long to be Lost as a light is lost in light. Oh plunge me deep in love—put out My senses, leave me deaf and blind, Swept by the tempest of your love, A taper in a rushing wind.

Last year marked the 200th anniversary of this much beloved Christmas poem story… I have loved this poem since I was a young girl.

I’ve always liked certain strands of thought by Kahlil Gibran; especially the poem he wrote about marriage. In many ways, I try to emulate the essence of what he speaks to when cultivating a relationship. In my mind, it’s not just for marriage. This is what I am mindfully thinking about today: The Gibran’s understanding of what it takes to keep a relationship healthy.

![]() Sometimes it’s a poetic thought by Walt Whitman that brings a peaceful feeling to my day. I like this poem a lot. Celebrating your self and your accomplishments and achievements in life is best savored when we realize that we have much in common with others, as we share life on earth. 🌷🌷🌷

Just a quiet notation today: I’m so filled with rage and hurt and the incessant news coverage over the perpetrator in chief that I’ve been writing strands of poetic thoughts about the troubling times our country faces, right now.
And in light of the impacts on our first amendment rights of “free speech” I’m curtailing my desire to share my poetic thoughts in verse form. When (or if) we are lucky as a nation to restore order in our country, I will share them then at that time. Until that day comes, I’ll be working on poetry that speaks to social travesties we are enduring presently. 💔 Yours Truly, =^..^=
