when the world follows the Tao
horses run free to fertilize the fields
when the world does not follow the Tao
war horses are bred outside the cities

there is no greater transgression
than condoning people's selfish desires

no greater retribution than for greed

Four kinds of generosity are mentioned in the Tibetan tradition:
1. Giving material things to those who are in want.
2. Giving protection to those who need it.
3. Giving love.
4. Giving dharma.
