I could be wrong, but I do think that I read somewhere that in the series the HotShot folks were going to be Werewolves instead of WerePanthers.

I hope they keep the variety of wolves, panthers etc. Otherwise it's just wolves and then shifters, which would seem odd. Why would their only be one group that can only shift to one animal.
